Sultan's Market
Sultan's Market — a middle eastern spot in Wicker Park. Feels like it's been there since before the neighborhood changed, and good value. Shannon Mahedy: "The pita was the best item we ordered - light, fresh, and fluffy" [$]

“This place never disappoints (unless you come late in the day and they have run out of meat). Their food bar is amazing. Everything I've ever tried on their menu has been on point. I especially enjoy their lamb and chicken shawarma, lentil soup, the best falafels, etc. It's cafeteria style ordering and you can eat on site or take it to go. If it's nice out, you can sit on their outdoor patio as well. There's a reason that there's place place has withstood the test of time. Their food is flavorful and affordable for everyone. They've been open for many years and I've patronized this place for many years as well. I still look forward to eating here every time I go.”

“Definitely my new favorite casual restaurant. The seating and vibes in here are awesome and the food is ridiculously good”

“The Market is Great! Me and my buddies call it The Market because we talk about this place so often and had to save some syllables! From the sandwiches to the starters, you can't go wrong!”

“Servers making shawarma sandwich smaller, food is great, for sure shawarmas are the best in Chicago, I have tried shawarmas from too many places but none as good as this place, I give 4 stars for one reason, humus, they need to improve on it, I don't want to mention the place with the best humus, still, I love humus from this place, they have another location on California, close to Milwaukee ave, I recommend that location, they have a beautiful patio, either location have great shawarmas, the Best in Chicago.”

“Not bad. We had the Meat combo dinner, it was good but there were some issues. Pitta was hard, which was disappointing, and the lamb was sausages, I was expecting some cut off the roaster. Anyway. Did the job. Just about.”

“I ordered lamb shawarma and spinach zaater. Shawarma was good but it could use some less sides and more meat. However, the zaater was cold and hard. If it was old they should have atleasted heated it. The atmosphere was good and I got the food fast. My order was to go.”

“The meat is drier than the Sahara. This sheep lived its entire life under a heat lamp. Embarrassing that they would dare serve this to a customer. Makes you wonder where else they are cutting corners.”

“Ridiculously dry and burnt lamb. Its almost like jerky 🤮. $25 for this??? I also ordered a large chicken soup. It was literally 90% vegetables. Barely any chicken, I had to literally dig to the bottom of the container to find 3 little pieces. Ridiculous”
“Great food, decent variety, great vegetarian options. Get the garlic sauce!!! You will be happy you did!”
“Great vegetarian and vegan options. I have been to Sultan’s many times since living in the neighborhood and have always been met by friendly staff. I love their falafel sandwich and their baked zatar sandwich. The lentil soup is also great.”
“I lovedddd the beef and chicken shawerma sandwhiches here. I love the palace theme going on here. Also I recommend this place to a friend from out of town who was unsure about what to eat in this neighborhood and HE TOTALLY LOVED IT and even texted me to thank me afterwards 😂”
