Its byob which is great and the sushi is really good. One important thing though is that its very dim lighting with loud house music. so i wont recommend for certain things but cute for a fun girls night.

“Really good sushi.”

Really good sushi. Started with a crispy tuna roll & chicken karage then got the warm roll a scallop on top and the sashimi salmon flight & the white fish salmon flight. Service and server were great.

I will say coming back from visiting Japan last year and having Yellowtail Sushi Bar was uplifting. I felt the quality of the fish was as good as I had it when I was in Japan. Really brought back good memories for me! The chefs platter was worth every penny! The service was great! I have to say the ambiance was good. I did think it was a little too dark at the front of the building. Overall I will recommend YSB&AK is worth every bite!

“Amazing sushi and service.”

Amazing sushi and service. We loved everything, especially the the salmon flight, both tartare, crispy rice, and spicy scallop roll. Very fresh and tasty. Reservation wasn’t available online but we got there and it was empty, they gave us the best seats. Then it quickly filled up with a lot of walk ins. Thank you

Loved the nigiri sampler with hamachi, salmon and tuna!!! That's a must have. The Kobe beef main dish was excellent as well!

One of the best sushi spots in Chicago, with reasonable prices and a BYOB policy that make it a great value. They do both more traditional nigiri and fun American style specialty rolls well. We had an awesome bluefin tuna sampler. Champagne is a classic pairing with sushi so take advantage of that BYOB policy by stopping at the nearby Binny's and grab some sparkling wine beforehand.

“Hands down my favorite sushi spot around.”

Hands down my favorite sushi spot around! Everything we ordered was beautifully plated. The salmon flight is my favorite plate. Every bite is an explosion of flavor! But the reality is, I can say that about everything we ordered. Not to mention how attentive the staff is. Highly recommend for sure!

A solid sushi spot in the heart of Lakeview. We were expecting a quiet sushi bar, but the restaurant turned out to be a modern dining space with uptempo music in the background. The seats in the back room had a pretty intimate atmosphere. The selection of rolls and nigiri was extensive. The Uni Otoro, Koshou Madai, and Seared Salmon Belly nigiri stood out for their freshness and unique flavor combinations. A minor note is that the sushi rice tasted a bit dry and was a bit lacking in the rice vinegar flavor. Several rolls were excellent, especially the Hotate and Yellowtail Maki. The Furemingu Maki was more average. Overall, a great dining experience, though the prices leaned towards the higher side, averaging close to $75/person.

My all time favorite sushi spot in all of Chicago!!! Yellowtail has a huge menu of options making it so that there’s something for everyone. The sushi is the best I’ve had in the city. It’s not only delicious but presented beautifully. I’ve also had several of their apps and have even managed to leave room for dessert and everything, even outside their sushi, is incredible. Yellowtail is also BYOB making this a more affordable sushi restaurant. The atmosphere is casual but intimate enough for a date night or fun night out with friends. I’ve taken so many out of town guests here and all have LOVED it. Even my friend from San Francisco who is a bit of a sushi snob. 100/10 would recommend! It won’t disappoint!!
