Strings Ramen Shop
Strings Ramen Shop — top-tier japanese in Chinatown. Buzzy, energetic room where the crowd adds to it. Friendly without hovering, and open late. Mitchel Taylor: "The broth was rich, creamy, and deeply flavorful—you can taste the hours of dedication that go into making it" [$$]

“Incredible outstanding ramen and service! I don’t usually go around to give feedback like this but the waiter guy here service made a big difference among all stores in the U.S.! Everything is super duper perfect and must comeback thanks to, above of all, the service style of the western hair-tied waiter (which surprised me due to his professional assistance in an Asian food store), and of course the chicken & turkey broth ramen and beef tongue is holy grail and must try with such affordable price!! 💯”

“The menu is on the table and it is a QR code. The food is amazing, but personally I think the ramen is the best. Have been here multiple times, and each time it tastes amazing. Definitely need to visit if you want ramen in Chinatown.”

“So yummy! We got the kimchi ramen bowl with pork belly. Highly recommend.”

“Never had beef ramen with a whole rib! It was so good. Very delicious broth. Lot of meat on the rib bone. Half egg, great noodles. Perfect! Very kind service.”

“The edamame was wonderful and split that with my daughter . The beef ramen bowl with the bone was to die for”

“It’s been well over a decade since my first visit. I distinctly remember moving back from Vancouver B.C. hankering for some real ramen. One day I stopped by STRINGS it’s been a seasonal visit since. If you know ramen you love Strings, and if you don’t they have other utensils besides chop sticks. Give them a try. Excellent service all the time. Great meals, always leave smiling. Thanks for having me guys. It’s been over a decade since my first visit to Strings. I distinctly remember returning from Vancouver, B.C., craving some authentic ramen. “Deliciously chewy ramen noodles. The broth was thick and rich but the noodles really were the star of the show”

“phenomenal, strong truffle flavor and truly fresh tuna - best late night meal in chicago thus far”

“Haven’t been here for a while but it’s still as good as I remember. My friend got the Tonkotsu ramen and we shared some gyoza. Food and drinks were fire🔥”

“We arrived around 2 PM. While it wasn't packed, it was quite busy, and I believe there were only three tables available at the time. We were seated and helped immediately. There isn’t much seating inside the restaurant, I think there were a maximum of ten seats. Our servers were nice and attentive, even though it was very busy! We ordered tonkotsu ramen and spicy vegetarian ramen, both of which were absolutely delicious. The ramen noodles were firm yet soft, maintaining a lovely texture. My tonkotsu ramen broth was rich and flavorful, and it came with a generous piece of pork belly. This is definitely one of the few places that truly knows how to make ramen. I highly recommend it and would definitely come back.”
