One of a kind. You won’t find a place like this anywhere else. All kosher meals. Clean fresh elegant food. Displayed real well. Host and waitress are very friendly and respectful. Very pricey but expected for the quality of food. Generous servings. A lot of parking available and wheelchairs accessable. Interior is designed very fancy and elegant.

One of the best restaurants I’ve been to in my life. I came in for lunch and got the soup of the day and the Chef’s choice nigiri. The soup was Italian wedding soup and it had a rich broth with very filling mini meatballs. It was served with bread with hummus and jalapeño dip. The Chef’s choice nigiri came with 2 pieces of king salmon, 2 pieces of what I believe to remember was flounder though I forgot, and 2 pierces of salmon belly. It was served with micro greens, lemon, teriyaki and spicy mayo. This was certainly THE BEST sushi I have had in my life. According to my server, the fish was fresh and arrived that morning. My server was Mario and he did an exceptional job. I will be coming back.

“We don't go out for dinner very often .”

We don't go out for dinner very often . However, it was my birthday, so this was a special treat. Very nice people. Comfortable and clean. The food was delicious. We had appetizers, meals, and wine. Also, a birthday cake with sparklers and a cool sign. I was thankful our waitress graciously took a picture of us.

Excellent high-end quality and service. The atmosphere was very pleasant. Some diners chatting with their family. friends. My wife enjoyed the lamb shank, and I enjoyed the rib steak. We were there for our anniversary. The staff brought out a special gutten free dessert with a sparkler!

I'm not often compelled to take to the internet and say nice things of a restaurant, but Shallots is a very special case. Despite being well beyond my budget I'm becoming somewhat of a regular, with Mario always taking good care of me and (usually) my daughters. Why is this night different from all other nights? Well aside from sitting in Jimmy's section (Jimmy holding the bar plenty high for Mario), or that I was treating my grandmother instead of my daughters, I ordered the dry aged bone-in ribeye. Chicago offers no shortage of indulgent beef cuts, and I've sampled plenty; Even in such a target rich environment for steak aficionados I'd be hard pressed to suggest any competition for what we just ate. I wouldn't waste your time trying to describe what may have been a perfect steak, but the pictures should give some impression.

“What a great place.”

What a great place! The restaurant is open Saturday night, but google indicated it wasn’t. Jen was our server, and she made the visit extra meaningful with her knowledgeable advise, beautiful smile and helpfulness in general. Without exaggeration, my reserve cut steak was probably one of the best I’ve had at a restaurant in sometime (and I travel and eat often) and it was cooked exactly as I requested. I can’t wait visit Shallots again on my next visit to Chicago.
