It was so flavorful and delicious, and it was nice that a sushi restaurant had a ton of other items other than sushi, though I still divulged in that as well

Nori Sushi Chicago — reliable japanese in Lakeview that keeps people coming back. Hospitality you can feel from the door, and BYOB. Roo Janvier: "The spice level on the spicy salmon maki roll was actually spicy which was refreshing" [$$]

🍷BYOB — grab a bottle next door, they'll open it.

We stopped in during restaurant week and were very impressed by the menu they had. An incredible value for high quality fish and well composed courses. The tuna fireballs were a highlight along with the nigiri omakase. If you're looking for a new spot to check out, definitely stop in. Pat, the manager, and Mike, our server, were incredibly welcoming and enhanced our experience!

We ordered two mixed drinks, and a variety of maki. The Chicago Crunchy Crazy roll was our favorite! The spice level on the spicy salmon maki roll was actually spicy which was refreshing. The matcha creme brulee was also one we'll be back for! The drinks were amazing and not why we went so a very pleasant surprise! Pat served us and I think was also our bartender (we came soon after they opened so pretty empty). She let us take our time so we never felt rushed and she was very attentive. Good local business and we'll be back!

Edit : Come back again for over a year since we moved out from the neighborhood Never disappointed, friendly service, better ambience they added more details about lighting and hanging plants on the lights. Super cute decor and more cozy vibes. I’m glad that they didn’t change the menu much but they have full bar service now! Cockage fee is for byob but that is fair for me cuz we still save $$ and be able to order more sushi ! Spicy udon stir fried is our go-to! Well done Nori! Cute little sushi restaurant in Lakeview!!! My favorite are Sakura maki and Spicy octopus maki. My husband always gets Sushi entree. We love tuna Tatar appetizer and spicy miso. They used to be BYOB but if you bring your own they only charge for $5! And open it for you with real wine glasses not tacky wine glasses from BYOB places. FYI they do offer Japanese beer on the tap:) but too bad that half off Monday no longer exist but who know?? After they fully back open for dine in again !?!?

Excellent service and very kind people. Food was amazing and the staff was accommodating of my shellfish allergy. We went on a Monday night so it was very quiet but we felt very well attended to.

This was my first time here. We ordered seaweed salad, miso soup, unagi cucumber sushi, sweet potato tempura, crispy tofu, garlic rice tofu. The service was amazing and the food was hot and good. Overall, I recommend going here for a casual night. You won’t regret. I have just had better sushi. The miso soup was my favorite

Nori Sushi Bar has gone out of its way to stand out not only with atmosphere and in-house aesthetics, but also with having actual interesting chef created artisinal Sushi and other assorted Japanese menu items. Match Créme Bru Le comes to mind almost immediately. You might be a tad "annoyed" by the use of plastic plants and the constant train noises given they are less than 30 seconds walk from the famous CTA 🚆 Train Station. What stops this place from being an okay #eatandhang with friends is the constant lack of menu updates for minor information, mixed with staffs inability to provide commonly needed items with certain orders you would expect at ANY dining establishment. Example: I ordered tea, not only was it served with no accompanying form of sweetener, there is no menu mention that they will serve you all teas as is, no flavor enhancers, usually means you don't taste the true flavor until its almost room temperature. Secondly, if you ask for a tray of their in house sweeteening agents, a teaspoon is not provided. They watched or ignored I was attempting to stir the packets of raw sugar I put in with a wooden singular chopsticks. A minor inconvenience but a completely unacceptable one when they have so much eating and nightlife competition all in walking distance, good food may get ppl to do take out, but service and atmosphere is what can fill a seat. Pros: The menu variety, the desserts. And the occasional artisinal item. Yes they serve the clichés but they have more than 1 signature of that kind on the menu. Cons: Service can't always identify small areas that need improvement as mentioned with their approach to good teas, leaving ironically the consumer with a potentially awkward situation if they want their tea to not taste like lightly flavored warm water. Summary the food is great or generic depending on who you ask, this is not a bad thing. Great aesthetics from all sides including the bathroom! But the minor things is what makes this place go from great to just ok.

The service can be overlooked since the presentation was beautiful. The salmon sashimi was the perfect texture and weight. I was happy to have a warm bowl of white rice beneath it. The shumai pieces are the most generous compared to similar restaurants and I found the price to be reasonable.
