UPDATE: 6 years since my previous review - they're still the best and the sweetest 💕 The food is still as delicious as always! Today is my birthday and I ordered dinner from them and they were so sweet and gave me a mochi for dessert and it came in in the cutest container 💙 Gorilla sushi's (on Diversey) employees always treat us like family and the service is super attentive and professional. P.S. the delivery driver was the sweetest too! Thank you so much 💓 This place is our go to when it comes to getting sushi rolls, and we do go there a lot. Everyone is super sweet, service is great and food is delicious! Employees remember us every time we come back and apparently miss us if we skip a few visits ;) Thank you guys for being so awesome!!!

It's really tasty sushi for a reasonable price. Tried dragon roll, chefs combo and shrimp shumai - all tasty. The service was great. They have a byob option.

“My boyfriend and I love this restaurant.”

My boyfriend and I love this restaurant! We go at least once every two weeks since we tried this place. Last time we went, we got 2 orders of shrimp shumai, 2 orders of the salmon avocado roll, a tigger roll, 2 Philly rolls, and a spicy scallop roll. All of this cost us $35.33 with tax! Great food and great prices. We always order the shrimp shumai, it’s the perfect portion and since it’s not too filling, it’s perfect for an appetizer. I didn’t even get to take a picture of it because it’s so good! The normal rolls come with 6 pieces and everything is absolutely delicious. We highly recommend coming here for a quick lunch or a group dinner. The waiter Earth is so nice and gives you fast and great service. And with the Diversey bus stop right in front, it’s an easy commute from the train.

“Very cheap and amazing sushi.”

Very cheap and amazing sushi. I can’t tell you the amount of times I’ve ordered from gorilla, and every time it’s the same amazing taste. Comes out fast and delicious. Not sushibut the gyozas are my all time favorite and a MUST GET. Next to that the spicy tuna rolls. Cute atmosphere and all the rolls are delicious. They have creative rolls too such as the Godzilla which I really recommend.

“It's amazing, so cheap yet so good, idk how they do it.”

It's amazing, so cheap yet so good, idk how they do it. I come here as much as I can. Been coming for years. 3.95 a roll and it's amazing fresh and tasty. It's like some type of black sushi magic. I can't recommend any of there locations enough. It's small cozy, great for dates or by your self. Just all around great. They get it right every time at every location. This will be a place I miss when I move in a few months.

went for lunch on a sunday and it was very empty - we were the only customers present. i was a little skeptical about the inconsistency of quality. i had the tempura, miso soup, sake don, and sake nigiri. the salmon in the sake don had a hint of fishiness in the taste, but the salmon in the nigiri tasted fresh. overall still think this is a decent spot for cheap sushi and would probably consider revisiting if i’m in the area.

Quality has decreased while price increased. Overall just super disappointing and feels a bit scammy. See photos of the amount of salmon we received in our sushi roll, which is equal parts funny and offensive.
