I’d rate this restaurant as 'average' at best.

“For dessert, we had the tiramisu and a pistachio dessert that was rich, nutty, and beautifully presented a perfect ending to the meal”
I truly wanted to enjoy this restaurant, as I had heard nothing but wonderful things about the food, the views, and the service.

My wife and I are frequent visitors to Chicago and make it a point to dine at Tre Dita every time since we discovered it. The food is exceptional as is the service. On our most recent trip, we arrived well ahead of our reservation and simply ate at the bar, watching the cocktails being crafted. Same menu as the dining room but a different atmosphere, and the same great food and service.

“My experience at Tre Dita was absolutely incredible.”
My experience at Tre Dita was absolutely incredible. To start, the entire restaurant is stunning. I adored the dimly lit atmosphere with beautiful decorations throughout the space. We were here just before the holidays, so the lights and ornaments made for a classy Christmas dinner. The food was to die for. I cannot remember all the names of our dishes, unfortunately, but I do believe that showing the images to the staff could help since they would be able to identify them. I was very, very pleased with my meal. The table found their entrees to also be quite divine. Even the appetizers had me obsessed. Our dessert was one of a kind as well. Finally, we were delighted to have such professional and kind service given to us by our waiter. He was patient, polite, and friendly to us all. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to my friends, family, and anyone who is looking for a charming restaurant in the area. I would love to return when I am back in the state.

“We stopped by the bar side of Tre Dita in Chicago, and it was such a great experience.”
We stopped by the bar side of Tre Dita in Chicago, and it was such a great experience. The atmosphere was relaxed but elevated, making it the perfect spot to unwind and enjoy really good food. The bread was absolutely awesome — fresh, warm, and the kind you keep reaching for without even thinking. The meatballs were amazing as well, full of flavor and cooked perfectly. Even the entrée we ordered was very good, rounding out a meal that felt thoughtful and well executed from start to finish. Tre Dita definitely impressed, and I’d happily return the next time I’m in Chicago.

Celebrated my girlfriend’s birthday at Tre Dita. We ordered the Trofie al Pesto, Tagliatelle al Ragu, and NY Strip steak. Pastas melt in your mouth, I’ll be thinking about this meal for a while! Service and ambience were great!

“There are many restaurants to choose from in Chicago but I really wanted to try the Morel mushroom...”
There are many restaurants to choose from in Chicago but I really wanted to try the Morel mushroom that I saw was served in the spinach gnudi since my family and I would forage for these when I was a little girl. Unfortunately, the Morel wasn't being served at the time of our visit but Chanterelles were served instead. The gnudi was the softest most flavorful dish I could hope to eat. We also ordered a special that evening that is not normally served on the menu, a ravioli that included freshly grated truffle mushrooms on top and again, so much flavor. The swordfish was delicious too. Everything we ate was a delight. The service was amazing and staff took time to educate us on the mushrooms and our meals. We never felt rushed even though all tables were full and a stream of people continued to show up. I highly recommend this restaurant, staff, and Chef for creating such a beautiful sensory experience. The only other restaurant I've eaten at that compares is Sentido Norte Provincia de Guanacaste, Las Catalinas. The cumulative effect of all the senses being treated at once really does it for me.

“Very special restaurant in Chicago.”
Very special restaurant in Chicago. I’ve come twice. I took my mom here for Christmas. Everything is delicious. The 40 ft windows are breathtaking. We ate early and enjoyed the daytime view turn into evening which was magical. The holiday decorations were stunning and service was top notch. I would budget $150 per person

I’m not sure why it took us so long to dine here, but it has quickly become our favorite restaurant. From the moment you walk in, the décor and warm, welcoming atmosphere make a strong impression. Each dish that we ordered had outstanding flavors. I recommend all the dishes that we ordered. We also enjoyed our waiter, Ruben. He guided us through the menu and was spot on with all his recommendations. We can not wait to return

“Tre-dita truly stands out as one of the absolute best fine dining destinations in Chicago.”
Tre-dita truly stands out as one of the absolute best fine dining destinations in Chicago. From the moment we were seated, the experience was top notch, delivering an evening of culinary excellence that we won't soon forget. The fact that they make their pasta in-house is evident in every bite. Their gnocchi was so delicious—light, pillowy, and perfectly sauced. But the true revelation was their pesto pasta, which was genuinely one of a kind; a fresh, vibrant, and perfectly balanced dish. For the main course, the steak was superb—super soft, incredibly tender, and cooked to absolute perfection. It practically melted in my mouth! The mocktails are wonderfully quenched thirsting and refreshing, making for a sophisticated pairing with the meal. Beyond the incredible food, the service is simply top notch. Attentive, professional, and knowledgeable, the staff enhanced the entire dining experience. If you are looking for a flawless fine dining Italian meal in Chicago, Tre-dita is an absolute must-visit. Five stars without hesitation!

“My wife and I finally made it to Tre Dita, and it lived up to the anticipation.”
My wife and I finally made it to Tre Dita, and it lived up to the anticipation. The restaurant is tucked inside an easy-to-find building, and the intimate green-accented dining room creates a warm, sophisticated vibe — right up my alley. We started with the Schiacciata Rossa — focaccia toscana with salsa di pomodoro, herbs, and extra virgin olive oil. It was fresh, aromatic, and generously topped — simple but done right. Next came the Polpette di Brasato, braised beef short rib meatballs with pecorino dolce. Flavor-wise, solid. But texture-wise, just a little too dry. Not a dealbreaker, but the weakest dish of the night. Then came the Gnudi di Spinaci, a revelation. I’d never had gnudi before, but this dish — heirloom spinach, morel mushrooms, parmigiano fonduta — stole the show. Perfectly balanced, rich, and delicate all at once. The Tagliata di Manzo (8oz prime ribeye cap) followed — an absolute standout. The cut, the seasoning, the preparation — flawless. It paired perfectly with my favorite wine, the 2019 Brunello di Montalcino, Villa Poggio Salvi, which was, thankfully, every bit as elegant as expected. We ended with the Tre Dita Gattò, a decadent devil’s food dessert with fleur de cao mousse, amaretto, and dark cherry. Beautifully plated and rich without being heavy — the ideal close. Overall, Evan Funke’s reputation holds true. If you go, focus on the pastas and steak — skip the extras and savor the craft. Tre Dita is a welcome addition to Chicago’s fine dining scene, and we’ll definitely be back

“Tre Dita exceeded all our expectations.”
Tre Dita exceeded all our expectations. We had the bruschetta classica, rigatoncini all’arrabbiata, New York strip, and scottadita di agnello, Everything was delicious. Most importantly service was the best, in particular the staff setting up and cleaning up our tables. Our waiter Tristan L was wonderful and had an amazing sense of humor which made our experience even better. Thanks everyone for going on and beyond. Highly recommend.

Wow! Can I give this a six star? The next level hospitality, the window into the kitchen to see the hand made pasta, the greeting with a shot to celebrate our occasion! Everything was exactly what you would expect of 1st class dining! I would suggest trying add much pasta as you can! We also got the steak which was cooked to perfection!
