Trattoria 225 — honest italian in Oak Park, where the Pizza is worth ordering. Clean, bright flavors from quality ingredients. Hospitality you can feel from the door. Good value, handles groups well. [$$, patio]

🌱Vegan & vegetarian friendly — real options, not one sad pasta.
☀️Patio — a Oak Park classic in summer.

As a vegan, this place is so fantastic (actually, it is so for vegans and omnivores alike). I customized my pizza with vegan cheese and cremini mushrooms. (the picture shows my liberal amount of sprinkling of red pepper flakes and oregano for my to go container lol). And the vegan sorbet option - blueberry - had blueberries mixed into it, which made it feel more special than my omnivore dinner companions’ nonvegan sorbet lol My vegetarian son was able to customize his penne pasta from fennel sausage to shrimp yay.

We hosted our marriage celebration at Trattoria 225 and it was perfect. Bill was patient and helpful from the start. The space was beautiful. The food was delicious (get the salmon!). And the service was perfect. A special shout our to Jazz who went above and beyond and is an absolute gem of a human. Thank you, Trattoria crew.

The food was good. I wouldn’t say great! The meatballs app were ok the Arancini was ok. The egg rolls were good. I probably wouldn’t come back for the food but the service and workers were great! The space was nice! Huge! Seems like it may have been an old art gallery! Prices were definitely decent!

Really average local Italian restaurant. Went with family on Saturday evening at 6:15 and it was empty. I do greatly appreciate all the gluten free options. The stuffed chicken with risotto was really good. The oxtail ragu wasn’t good.

The calamari was okay. The pepperoni pizza wasn't bad, but it wasn't all that. The goat pizza, however, was very delicious. I will definitely try some of the other pizzas they have.

We visited this place to watch our son play live music. They were close to being prepared for the traffic it brought to the establishment. There were enough seats. Plenty of space but not enough seat to accommodate the customers. They were short handed and the attitude of the owner (who was on the grill due to the shortage of staff) was just like "oh well" We ordered the mushroom steak. It was ridiculously tough. One area of my husband's steak was so tough the knife wouldn't even cut it. The waiter kept giving our food to the wrong person. It was horrible. I personally would not go here on my own and if my son's band ever play at this establishment again. I will either wait to eat or eat before I go.

I usually love this place and their food. I thought I had reviewed them previously. Boo. I went on Mother's Day. I was underwhelmed. Server 1. not very attentive 2. When asked which dish she would recommend, she said "well one is pasta with chicken, one is risotto." 🙄 If she hadn't tried either one, just say so. 3. Never came to ask how meal was and brought check b4 asking if we would like dessert or anything. It wasn't bc they had a group waiting for our table, yes she was busy but customer service was lacking. I should have chosen the risotto. Nonetheless, this didn't sway me from ever going back. Positives: it's in my neighborhood, nice outdoor seating, and parking on side street usually bc sometimes it's hard to park on Harrison. Menu is constantly changing. Pizza deal on Thursdays. Friendly host/hostess. I hate to add more negativity to my prior review, but recently I got take out from Trattoria. The chicken parm was perfect. It's minor but come on now. The side salad was pitiful. Iceberg lettuce, with most of the salad containing the white core pieces. See photo. It was a disappointment.

The pizza is normally good. The 2/22 deal on Tuesdays and Thursdays is mainly why I order from there. Unfortunately, this time both of the pizzas didn’t have any tomato sauce. Also they were lukewarm. I ordered the meatballs before and it was horrible. No seasoning. I will order the pizza take out deal again, but if the food isn’t good, I’ll order somewhere else.

Maybe an off night for them. The food was not cooked all the way. We had to send back two items since one was cold and the ravioli were hard. The pizza has hardly any sauce and tastes like dough with wilted basil. The server was nice but realllllly slow and forgetful.
