We visited Rustico in Oak Park with our Estillos Barber Studio client/friend, and the experience really stood out. Alan, our host, made sure we felt taken care of from start to finish. His team was attentive,even down to refilling our sparkling water the moment our glasses were close to empty. That kind of detail doesn’t go unnoticed. The food was excellent across the board. The mussels were flavorful and fresh, the Brussels sprouts had that perfect roasted crisp, and the fish paella was cooked beautifully with a great authentic taste. To finish, the nupudding with pistachio ice cream was a highlight, creamy, nutty, and the perfect ending to the meal. Rustico delivered on both service and flavor. It felt genuine, thoughtful, and worth recommending. We’ll definitely be back.

Tapas was tasty and came fast from the kitchen. Attentive service and thoughtfully(in kitchen) shared main dishes for us. We really enjoyed the (short ribs) costillo and rigatoni . Brussel sprouts were quartered and fried just right. We went back again and the short ribs were delicious as were the brussel sprouts. 8/12/2025 the restaurant moved to this new location. Very open ceiling and interesting space. Menu still is large in scope and full of interesting choices. Tapas, pizza, and oven fire. The ravioli I had with seafood was delicious.

Ate here for lunch while in Oak Park on vacation. The food was phenomenal! We were there as a large group and service was excellent- staff was fast, efficient, and attentive. I had the house salad to start. It was very good and I especially liked the house vinaigrette. For the main I had Penne Salsiccia - penne with Italian sausage, sweet peas, parmesan in a tomato cream sauce with chili flakes. It was delicious! We were served ice cream for dessert, which was perfect as it was a tasty and light treat after a large meal.

“Large, quality portions and attentive staff.”

Large, quality portions and attentive staff. You might want to split a meal here. Don't get too stuffed on the bread that comes out, either, but that's hard to do. Chicken parmesan is great. Pasta must be made there.

The rustic ambiance with dim beautiful lighting attracted me right away. Tables are set apart nicely (except in the back where there are more 2 seater. For a bigger girl I was nervous about this seating arrangement when more people came to sit by us). Water was filled instantly and bread was given. We ordered the Apple Salad (not pictured) that was so delicious! A nice amount of mixed greens with fruits and a very delicious Champagne Vinaigrette dressing! I ordered the Costilla and the amount of food was great! The flavors mixed so well together. I was impressed with only needing a fork to cut the beef and how the crispy onions gave the meal that extra salty goodness. I would definitely get this again! My friend was conflicted on what to ordered but decided on the Pork Tenderloin because the table next to us got it and it looked way too good not to get. It was a perfect choice. The tenderloin was a little over cooked for him, but it was so tender and juicy, even with the char on the outside. He said he was surprised at how delicious the BNS was and how the BS needed a bit more seasoning. Overall he said he would get this again with different veggies. Our desserts - he got a fried banana with vanilla gelato and I ordered the tiramisu. The Tiramisu was good, the menu didn’t say it came with gelato, with the waiter asked if coconut gelato was a good choice but that’s ok, so when it arrived and I tried it I was not happy because I DISLIKE coconut. To me it’s as bad as people who taste soap when they eat cilantro - NO THANK YOU! I would go again and try something different only because I do love options, but who am I kidding…. I’ll end up with the Costilla again!

“My husband and I had a great time at rustico for date night.”

My husband and I had a great time at rustico for date night. We had the 2 specials on the menu - the grilled calamari and the blackened tuna. The tuna was to die for!! The calamari itself was alright..however it came on a bed of greens with fresh veggies and dressing so it was like a seafood salad so that made it really tasty! The cocktails were okay and overall it was pretty pricey but it was a nice dinner with great service and the restaurant itself had a great atmosphere for a Friday night. We will be back!

We had an nice time at Rustico. My friend and I did happy hour and some light food. Service was very friendly. Very welcoming ambiance. The cocktails and food we ordered was excellent. I got the "Alexander" and it was amazing. Looking forward to my next visit!
