Pizzeria Uno — an italian spot in River North. No frills and no gimmicks, just a solid honest room. Strong pours and a bartender who takes pride in the work. "The crust was perfectly crispy, the cheese was melty and rich, and the sauce had such great flavor" — Can Akcali

Best part of the trip to Chicago was trying some deep dish pizza. This place offers pizza making lessons. Unfortunately we came on wrong day.

“Iconic chicago pizzeria, Uno is a must try.”
Iconic chicago pizzeria, Uno is a must try. It is not just the best pizza, an experience not like other. You can taste southern Italy in the tomatoes. Highly recommended.

“Our school had a field trip today.”
Our school had a field trip today. 12/8/2025. The service, food and professionalism was spectacular!! Our students had a very good time!! They made their own pizza. The table was set up when we arrived.Small circular pizza crust, cups of cheese, pepperoni and sauce, and a small drink. They listened to the waitress and followed her instructions. The students were given gloves to put all of the ingredients on the crust. Once they collected all the pizzas to bake, they were provided crayons to color their place mats. Overall they had a very good time! Thanks to all the staff and managers... you guys are awesome!!

“Tired our first ever deep dish pizza in the home of the deep dish.”
Tired our first ever deep dish pizza in the home of the deep dish. We ordered medium size for two adults and it was way too much. Should’ve gone for a small!!

Cooking class Saturday morning to learn about Uno's and how to make their deep dish pizza including dough and sauce recipe. Lupi was a great instuctor. She has a long history working at the restaurant, shared personal stories, gave clear directions with a cute accent that made you feel like mama was running the course. Ten of us enjoyed each others company for the 2+ hour cooking class. Worth the price with a generous, well deserved tip.

“Pizza is good, but man the service is awesome.”
Pizza is good, but man the service is awesome. The barman (Santiago) is amazing, he gave recommendations, he changed our drink when we didn't like one of them, and was the nicest person ever! Would go back to UNO just because of him. This man embodies good service.

“It wasn’t my first dip dish in Chicago, but this one was absolutely outstanding.”
It wasn’t my first dip dish in Chicago, but this one was absolutely outstanding. They invented the thing so they definitely know how to prepare one. Was a bit skeptical at first after reading other people opinions, but wanted to try it myself. Chose the house special without green peppers as I’m not a big fan of them and it was delicious. Definitely recommend

“We wanted to try the deep dish pizza, what is better than try it at Uno pizzeria.”
We wanted to try the deep dish pizza, what is better than try it at Uno pizzeria. The Uno pizza was very good and delicious. Service on our table was okay, but saw other sections with fabiolus service. The vibes in the restaurant is very good. if you are in Chicago and wants to try their deep dish pizza, Uno is the right place. Note: Pizza take between 35 - 45 minutes

“The exact location of where deep dish pizza and other favorites were created.”
The exact location of where deep dish pizza and other favorites were created. Patient zero. Even though there was a line of 20 some people, we were presented with the opportunity to order our pizza and then sit at the bar. When our pizza was ready, so as a table for us. If it’s just one or two people, order the small size. These are deceptively large because they are more than an inch deep. Not a lot of breading, but they sure have a lot of good filling. The two of us could only handle 50% of the small size meat-lovers.

“Had a really good experience at Pizzeria Uno.”
Had a really good experience at Pizzeria Uno. Their uno classic deep dish pizza was quite good - a good balance between meat, veggies and cheese. The kitchen accidentally made us a Large instead of a Medium like we ordered, so we had the pleasure of having a LOT of leftovers lol. Their meatball appetizer was delicious too. I will say though, this isn’t the best deep dish I’ve had. Maybe it’s a chicago thing, but the pizza crust at all these deep dish spots is closer to cornbread than a golden-brown, flaky crust that you’d normally get with pizza. My favourite spot back home (Mickey’s Pizza in Oakville, Ontario if you’re wondering) is a perfect example of this. Here, the crust is much more crumbly, which doesn’t make for the best leftovers. Either way, you’ll still have a good time here. The service is great, we were seated fairly quickly, and it’s good to pay respect to the OG’s by visiting the originator of it all. Shoutout to the dude who looks like a cross between JPEGMAFIA and Nipsey Hussle, his service was excellent.

Loved the vibe here — small, cozy, and just right. The staff was super friendly and made us feel welcome. We got the original deep dish (small veggie) and it was amazing. So tasty and filling, we enjoyed every single bite. Definitely worth a visit if you’re craving real Chicago deep dish!
