I had a taste for a breaded steak sandwich. The reviews here say it’s the best. I usually go to Ricobenes, so this was a bit of a gamble. The sandwich here is packed. You won’t feel that bad that you paid $16 for a sandwich without fries! Service was cool, older guy who is probably a few minutes short of retirement. I asked if he recommended hot or mild Giardiniera so he said ok I’ll put both in the sandwich lol. It was a good mix. I saw people who ordered and had to wait like 20 minutes. Foods good but not 20 minutes wait time good. I’ll be back to try other sandwiches. I love family owned businesses.

Given they have an outdoor area, it really compensates for the small, crammed area indoors. This is more like a place you walk in, order, and leave. But because they have outdoor area, again, it compensates for the indoor area. The food is almost as good as Fontanos Subs. I did ask for mayo, and they added mayo. That was a mistake on my part. It tasted like there was too much mayo. As soon as you order a cold sandwich, it would be ready in about 2 minutes. This is much quicker than any fast food restaurants I have been to. I would recommend this over any other fast food restaurants. It is cheap as well. I believe I payed $12 for the sandwich itself. Only half of it I was able to eat and the other half, I had either finish it, throw it out, or save it for later and hope it doesn't spoil (I was not around a fridge at the time). Giardia spicy, is really not spicy. It's more mild than spicy. You will feel the taste of it later in the day though.

“I was driving home and saw their white sign outside.”

I was driving home and saw their white sign outside. Decided to stop and try it out. I ordered the Spicy Italian sub and a Breaded Steak sandwich. They were delicious! So good that I couldn’t stop to take a picture. I’ve passed by this place for years and never stopped to look. That changed today. I will be going back pretty soon and often.

There I was…. Leaving Guaranteed Rate Stadium when I had the sudden urge to eat something very Italian! After whipping out the trusty mobile device and searching nearby “bodegas and ristorantes” if you will - I settled on Nonna Soluri’s Italian Deli, on S. Morgan St. (named after my ancestors, I’m sure). I was able to park right in front of the deli, parking has been a nightmare all over Chicago - it’s a great situation here! Walked in, ordered the Italian Sub and was on my way in 5-6 minutes! Great food, helpful & friendly staff! I’ll be back!

Quaint, clean neighborhoody shop with a well-stocked deli case, making great sandwiches and NOW SERVING PIZZA! The pizza is very good, cheesy, tavern cut, and reasonably priced. Anchovies are available. They also sell homemade Italian sausage by the pound. I just wish they were open a little later, but Nonna Soluri's is a Bridgeport staple.

And...... just in case you “forgot” it was an “Italian” families business-there’s a Scarface (even though Al Pacino’s character is a CUBANO immigrant) framed Poster and pictures of Alfonso Capone & other Wise-Guys.... along with enough DALEY family memorabilia to make you think he was a “Good-Guy”, or sumpin’ like dat...... dere. 🤭

Neat little place staff working here were really nice. There's a 4% credit card surcharge so bring cash. Pizza slice was stale and wasn't anything special. The sandwich came soggy and didn't really have much flavor to it. The peppers were nice though.
