I live in the neighborhood. I’ve eaten here quite a few times. Today was my last visit.
The owners response is now another reason to never be back.
I’m really irritated. First time ordering, and it came looking like that. A simple hand tossed, cheese pizza.

“Love their Detroit Style Pizza.”
Love their Detroit Style Pizza! It has an incredible crunch and the right balance of savory and sweet depending on your topping selection. I ordered the Samoan this particular night. In addition, the tiramisu was light and not overly sweet. It's more to my liking.

The young lady up front her name is Zoey is amazing. Food out of this world. A party in your mouth. I ordered a Chicago Dog, buffalo chicken pizza with brisket and chubbies. My god the chubbies are a slam dunk. If you have not tried this restaurant you’re missing out on great people and great food. The orders came out and told me thank you come on, you could not wish for a better place

I’ve only ever taken out from here, but I LOVE this pizza spot! Their pizza has great flavor and a crispy crust — AND they have gluten free Detroit crust! I like it way better than Chicago Pizzas gluten free deep dish.

I’ve been looking for a good Detroit style pizza in Chicago for a long time, and Fat Chris’s is definitely the place to go! The pizza was cooked perfectly and was ready quickly. The prices are also pretty reasonable. I would recommend everyone try it out!

Really great option for Detroit style pizza. The recommended cheesy bread was excellent, if you're a fan of Faygo, this is one of the free places I've seen it in the city. My favorite was the Samoan though both the Hawaiian and Carnie were great as well. Their sauce is sweet rather than savory just as a heads up. The restaurant is unassuming but has a distinct character with why brick walls and fun decor. Service was great with helpful and cheerful staff.

I'm a bit of a Detroit Style aficionado (I'm a professional chef that owned a Detroit Style Pizza place) and this is the real deal. Perfect caramelization on the edges. Love the sauce. They have Vernors and Faygo. We ordered take out and everything was great. My wife isn't the biggest fan of tomatoes or sauce, so I asked for sauce only on one side and they obliged. We loved the chubbies. You have to order some chubbies. Million stars.

Went to Fat Chris for lunch buffet. As many others have said they don't put anything out until people show up. Everything we had was delicious and the staff was incredibly friendly.

I loved the lunch buffet at Fat Chris ($16.50) 🔥 The buffet includes a salad bar with several toppings, stuffed Stromboli, cheesy garlic bread, and Detroit style pizza. While the salad bar was fairly standard, the hot dishes were quite delicious. This isn’t the type of spot that does extravagant ingredients, but it does do tasty, crispy Detroit style pizza with good ingredients and good value. If you’re looking for a big meal for a decent price, Fat Chris does a great job. The lunch buffet runs from 11:30 AM - 3 PM. Would definitely come back here if I’m in the area!

Gluten free detroit style pizza is pretty great, it’s thick but not crumbly, it’s holding together pretty well. It’s heavy on the tomato sauce, the sauce is gorgeous. Definitely will be in rotation. The regular slice was pretty good too. The restaurant though is looking a bit warehouse like and didn’t seem pleasant to be dining in.

Cute spot! Got a pizza by the slice (hard to find sometimes!) and a coke for under $7 (with 2 toppings: pepperoni and mushrooms). Friendly guy at the front and the decor was really cool. I’m liking the Detroit style! Yes, it’s a little less cheese than Chicago style but the crust is nice and crispy and it’s super flavorful. Filling! BYOB. I’ll definitely be back!
