“Great place to enjoy a meal and watch baseball and other sports. Comfortable booths, friendly, efficient service. Enjoy the pizza, veggie burgers and salads. Street parking. Accessible via public transportation. Nice place for groups.”

“Really good tavern-style pizza. Loads of flavor with thick, rich sauce. Attentive, quick service. Grew up on deep-dish, but very happy to switch to this thinner, lighter style.”

“We were at this place tonight, and due to a small misunderstanding with our reservation, we were kindly treated to a pizza while waiting for a table — a wonderful gesture from the owner and the kind staff and bartender. But folks, the real revelation was the Candellite White Pizza! We were amazed by the flawless dough and the symphony of flavors that delighted our palates. Absolutely wonderful! See you next year when we visit your city again. Warm greetings from all of us — and as we promised, we’re waiting for you in our beautiful Serbia! P.S. Thank you so much for the lovely gift ❤️”

“I love candlelight! If you love pizza then you would love this pizza! I order a classic cheese pizza. I always say the first time eating at a pizzeria You gotta get a cheese pizza to taste the sauce, the dough and the cheese. Pizza came out fresh and hot Cut classic squares Chicago style Super thin crispy crust this is more of a Chicago Tavern style pizza then a thin crust pizza. I favor more acidic sauces over sweet. So this sauces was on point for me. Also, their beer selection is pretty decent (Son of juice for my IPA people) Service was amazing! Greeted immediately as we walked in restaurant was packed bar was packed, but was seated right away and the pizza came out so fast (10 minute's) and delicious you would think that the place was empty! The restaurant itself is beautiful with a classic marquee sign outside, love it! 100% Recommend!”

“I ordered from here so haven’t been inside but the pizza is pretty awesome. Definitely need to go there at some point as well.”

“Had delivery and the pizza was awesome! Had to drop a review”

“I was there early on a Sunday afternoon when it wasn’t very crowded. It was quiet and the service was on point. The pizza was delicious, with a cracker crust and a perfect amount of toppings. I plan to return.”

“Wonderful tavern style pizza in a very family friendly place that is perfect to watch sports. Highly recommend this for anyone in the north side looking to have some good pizza”

“Luv the vibe of this Edgewater neighborhood staple. Their pizza here is solid and worth a visit. But there are so many great tavern-style joints in The City, sometimes its more convenience driven to keep going to same resto. But their version is a solid 4.3⭐️s. If Im ever this far north and close to the lake, a definite must try!”

“Candlelite is a tavern located in Western Rogers Park. It was recommended by someone at work who said that while its primarily a pizza restaurant, they had good cheeseburgers. Since it was close to the job and I had never heard of it, I saved it as a place of interest if I needed a lunch while at work. While the pizza menu looked impressive, i stayed true to the Cheeseburger recommendation and ordered the BBQ Bacon Cheddar burger. Topped with French fried onions, bacon, lettuce and tomato and put on a pretzel roll smeared with Merkts cheddar and BBQ sauce. I have to say that while the burger was predictably a mess to handle, the flavors here complimented each other well. Usually when Merkts cheddar is used on a burger it tends to be the star of the show, but the actual meat used for the burger stood tallest here. Very beefy flavored and some bites almost had a steak like flavor to them. The drippings from the burger took the taste of my side order of tater tots to a different level. The online order process was easy enough to use. But when I placed my order it said it would take 40 minutes, so I planned on it taking 40, but it only took 20 and I got a text when it was ready, So my order sat for 15 or so minutes which was detrimental to the texture of my tater tots. Anyone that knows me, knows that I don't care for pretzel rolls. This one was okay, but much like the taters, it softened up during the wait contributing further to the messiness of the burger All in all, I was quite pleased with my order. I don't think this is a $21 hamburger, but it was certainly delicious. I do plan to come back and try their pizza. It looks super promising, and when I do I'll make a further edit to this review and average the scores together.”
