Food: A Atmosphere: A Waitstaff: A- Decor: A I visited Bar Roma on a Sunday afternoon and was immediately welcomed by an inviting and friendly staff. From the moment we walked in, the restaurant felt warm and approachable, setting a relaxed tone for the meal. The atmosphere stood out with its rustic charm. The space clearly has character, giving the impression of a well-loved restaurant that values comfort just as much as style. The food lived up to expectations and felt like classic Nonna cooking, comforting, hearty, and full of rich, homemade flavor that made each dish feel thoughtfully prepared. The waitstaff were kind and accommodating, though service was occasionally slow. It took some effort to get our waitress’s attention, but she servicing multiple tables.. Overall, Bar Roma delivers a strong dining experience with excellent food, a welcoming atmosphere, and a charming rustic setting. Minor service delays aside, it is a place worth visiting, especially for a nice meal.

I have been wanting to do here ever since I moved into the area 1.5 years ago. This space was special to me as it has previously been my favorite restaurant in all of Chicago, Atlantique. When that place closed down I was very sad and hoped something great would take its place. I'm not sure if Bar Roma was the immediate replacement but this was so good! I went for happy hour as the menu looked pretty damn good. Their full menu looks great as well. I started with the cocktail special which was very tasty. They brought bread out, which I didn't expect, and it was amazing! Warm, crunchy crust and so soft. The oil and Parmesan cheese plate was so good! Then had the meatball which was amazing, very big plate for a happy hour dish. Then I had the breaded shrimp and this you too was great! I wanted to order the mussels but was already very full. Had their white wine which was good. The space is great! Really love what they did with it. The bartender was very nice. Definitely will return. Need to try the full menu next time.

The bartender had great drink and menu suggestions. The prosecco spritzer was amazing. The Thyme drink was interesting. Our wait staff was great. Leia really knew the menu to suggest meatballs to pair with the different sauces. Large portions. It is great that this space is used again as it was empty. I loved when Atlantique was here. 2024 Update: We are so glad the restaurant delivered on NYE. They are one of the few to keep deliveries open on this night. We had glorious Manzo and Pollo Polpette, veal and chicken entrees. It was delivered really quickly.

The food was absolutely amazing and worth the price! The squid ink pasta/fettuccini Isabella had such a refreshing yet rich seafood flavor, reminding me of a good seafood broil condensed in pasta form, garnished with juicy shrimps, scallops, and mussels that are cooked to a tender perfection. The Yachtin in capri cocktail tasted like an elegant summery lemon drop. Will definitely come back to try more food! The atmosphere and service were amazing too!

We had a date night at this place, and we both really enjoyed the food as well as the ambiance of the place. We spent a few hours at this place and had the grande burrata for appetizers and cavatelli and Vitello Francese for the main courses, and unlike other's we licked our plates clean. It was a pleasant experienc, and I would definitely come back to try more dishes.

Bar Roma always provides an amazing dinner and 5 star service! I love love love the meatballs and suggest you try them all. The wine selections are great and the wait staff are really good at making pairing suggestions. Love this place.

“I enjoyed my meal here.”

I enjoyed my meal here. The menu is uncomplicated yet diverse. I had the oxtail pasta and an appetizer of fried calamari and shrimp. The meal was tasty and satisfying for what one would want from an Italian cafe at this price point. The patio seating is a wonderful place to sit amongst flowers and greenery on a warm sunny day.

Definitely a very high quality restaurant with unique recipes that is one of a kind and delicious , the waitress was very sweet and friendly and provided a sweet unique birthday desert for my daughter , we loved the Aviance , very classy a great place for a date. Or family and friends get togethers or business dinners there is a Happy Hour so if you are on a budget that is awesome
