“Delicious food, great service, and wonderful atmosphere! I had the Caico e pepe and was amazed at how delicious the noodles were. Definitely will be coming again!”

“Service was great. Pasta was terrific. Don’t miss fettuccine Isabella. Lots of sea food, a little spice and great flavors”

“The food was absolutely amazing and worth the price! The squid ink pasta/fettuccini Isabella had such a refreshing yet rich seafood flavor, reminding me of a good seafood broil condensed in pasta form, garnished with juicy shrimps, scallops, and mussels that are cooked to a tender perfection. The Yachtin in capri cocktail tasted like an elegant summery lemon drop. Will definitely come back to try more food! The atmosphere and service were amazing too! Update: We returned for their happy hour and it is such a lovely time!! Get the old fashioned and try the small plates on the menu. We had a great time with salami, cheese, olives and tomatoes for a great price!”

“Bar Roma is a hit! Came here for a date night and had a great time in paroozing the menu while enjoying the atmosphere. They had specials for Valentine’s Day too! I ended up choosing the lasagna with bolognese sauce (you can choose meat or plain red) and it was a hit. A perfect portion size I finished it without any help haha. The chocolate lava cake was decadent and thick and melted on the spoon. Amazing! Staff seemed nice and were quick and attentive and it was a happening place!”

“Love Bar Roma. Homemade fresh pastas, wood burning grill! Great cocktails and wine! Best happy hour in Andersonville”

“Food: A Atmosphere: A Waitstaff: A- Decor: A I visited Bar Roma on a Sunday afternoon and was immediately welcomed by an inviting and friendly staff. From the moment we walked in, the restaurant felt warm and approachable, setting a relaxed tone for the meal. The atmosphere stood out with its rustic charm. The space clearly has character, giving the impression of a well-loved restaurant that values comfort just as much as style. The food lived up to expectations and felt like classic Nonna cooking, comforting, hearty, and full of rich, homemade flavor that made each dish feel thoughtfully prepared. The waitstaff were kind and accommodating, though service was occasionally slow. It took some effort to get our waitress’s attention, but she servicing multiple tables.. Overall, Bar Roma delivers a strong dining experience with excellent food, a welcoming atmosphere, and a charming rustic setting. Minor service delays aside, it is a place worth visiting, especially for a nice meal.”

“I can’t beleive they have a weekend happy hour! And this place will transport you to Italy. Their wine selection is excellent. Service was great too- loved the patio. @chicagopescetarian”

“Great food, vibe and service! Easy to get a reservation and everyone is courteous”

“How have I lived 10 min from here and have never been? Definitely in my top 5 for Italian in the city! Cozy vibes and the tailgate bolognese was perfection. also try the affogato! Very happy. And last min resy too!”

“I have been wanting to do here ever since I moved into the area 1.5 years ago. This space was special to me as it has previously been my favorite restaurant in all of Chicago, Atlantique. When that place closed down I was very sad and hoped something great would take its place. I'm not sure if Bar Roma was the immediate replacement but this was so good! I went for happy hour as the menu looked pretty damn good. Their full menu looks great as well. I started with the cocktail special which was very tasty. They brought bread out, which I didn't expect, and it was amazing! Warm, crunchy crust and so soft. The oil and Parmesan cheese plate was so good! Then had the meatball which was amazing, very big plate for a happy hour dish. Then I had the breaded shrimp and this you too was great! I wanted to order the mussels but was already very full. Had their white wine which was good. The space is great! Really love what they did with it. The bartender was very nice. Definitely will return. Need to try the full menu next time.”
