This is a really great place that has great food. It's not an overly formal setting like some snobby white tablecloth places. The quality of the food and service is on par with those other snobby, formal places. We had the calamari, focaccia, beet salad, braised beef and a couple other things. Everything was top quality. The braised beef was a perfect bit of comfort food with the smooth mashed potatoes and brussel sprouts. We had a reservation on the heated and covered patio and we loved it. We will definitely return next time were in the area. If you're going on a Friday or Saturday I would recommend making a reservation.

Wow blown away, I have to go back to try the rest of the menu!!! We went on a weekday evening with no reservation and were able to be seated at the patio. WHAT WE ORDERED - Melon salad - Orecchiette pasta - Tagliatelle pasta Dessert - Chocolate Hazelnut Tart - Lemon Panna Cotta

We had a great experience at Anteprima. They are the only restaurant we could find that takes reservations for their outdoor patio. Mark was an excellent server and the rest of the staff were extremely pleasant. Husband had an aperol spritz and I had a dirty martini. We then shared the Deviled Eggs and octopus without chilis. The lamb was extremely tender and the steak was very nice. As it was my birthday we had the chocolate hazelnut tart with a candle. Their quartino of chianti went well with our main courses.

This is our second time here! My husband and I love this place. Excellent food and service. I fall in love with the green garlic cavatelli pasta, I want to come back soon just to eat that. The grilled octopus was good and tender as always. The saffron Arancini was a nice surprise, really flavorful. The orecchiette pasta was a great combination of flavors with a little bit of kick to it. Overall, I recommend this place to everyone.

Wonderful neighborhood restaurant. Varied, interesting menu. Portion control was perfect. I had pasta limone that was excellent. Appetizers were very good as was the hazelnut tart I had for desert.

I ordered the special meatloaf and it was AMAZING. Portions seem small but are very filling and the seasoning and cook on everything was immaculate! The waiter was super nice & was very attentive. Potatoes tasted great, but it was a cold salad and took us by surprise. It's meant to be cold, I'm just a picky eater 😅 Would definitely recommend!! Cute date night spot ❤️

Grilled Octopus & Trout. Beautiful ambiance and excellent wait staff. It took some time for my food to come but it was absolutely worth the wait for a fresh hot meal. I hate getting food thats been sitting under a heat-lamp for 30 mins at fine dining establishments. Also before adding additional seasoning to your meal, taste it first! This is true Italian cuisine hence true Italian flavors/seasoning. #delicious Great place for a nice family dining experience or a lovely date night with someone or solo.

We enjoyed every dish we ordered. We came to Chicago for a visit, I don’t know where I learned this restaurant but it was marked on my google map. We glad we made the efforts to come here from our hotel in downtown.

This place is good ole’ Italian food that isn’t trying to be anything else. I wouldn’t say that it isn’t inventive, but sometimes you just want good food to enjoy in a warm and inviting atmosphere. The ravioli was the best but I really enjoyed my mushrooms!! We will def be back and hope to try to desserts!
