I was told that eating it will make you start speaking Italian :) Beef was tender and delicate, jus was aromatic, perfectly seasoned. Beside the food, atmosphere and staff are top notch! Al's No.1 Italian Beef is a must when visiting Chicago and wanting to try Windy City staple sandwich!

Anyone that doesn’t give this legendary sandwich establishment 5 stars is wild. Best Beef I have had so far. The truth is the Chicago beef doesn’t get enough credit. This place does it right. Juicy, fresh and make sure you get it dipped!

Came here for lunch. First ever Italian beef sandwich! Really impressed! Food was awesome, but the fries were absolutely outstanding! The beef was so flavourful and so tender. The bread was fresh as we. The fries brought me back to a place where I used to get the same flavour of fries when I was a kid. Tried a Chicago hot dog for the first time as well! Quite good!! The people were super friendly and the pricing was quite reasonable. Would definitely recommend! Don’t forget to follow me!!

My wife and I did the movie homes that were on film tour, was looking for a good beef place and I wanted to go with the best. Al's #1 was the place I wanted to try, hey it's got number one in the title. Not much parking, go figure. Share other establishments on the same property. Once inside, lots of seating room, walkup counter. We both had the beefs, (reg beef 5", big beef 7" and jumbo 9"). We got ours dipped, totally soaked, my wife had the cheese fries, which were amazing and I had the regular fries. I failed to notice on the menu they had buffalo fries, next time. Pricing was $8 plus for the 5", the 7" was $10 plus and the 9" was $ 14 plus. The beef taste was not like a traditional beef taste, it was something totally different but exceptionally good. Lots of decor on the walls, pertaining to the restaurant lots of recognition with TV and magazines. Ever out that way, I highly recommend stopping by there. They do have other items on the menu but I was especially looking for a beef.

There's Al's Beef...then there's AL'S BEEF! This is the latter. Want proof? Check the reviews. Any one star without a picture to support their claims is probably a lie. Also notice that the local guides and frequent posters are all consistently at 4 or more stars. Yeah, this place is awesome. I don't exactly know what they're doing different but they are consistently better than any of the other locations I've been to. They also have more stuff on their menu that most places don't have so there's something for everyone and the desserts are delicious! You want the best beef sandwich and fry's in town? Go here!
