“Danny (the owner) has made as exceptional Italian experience. Over the years I have gone there for anniversaries, mothers day, and date night. Every time, I am surprised by the quality of the food. The dessert are fresh, the pasta's are packed with flavor. My personal favorite being the Spaghetti and Meatball's. Please reach out to Danny for catering and hosting events at this shop. While things changed for us, Danny was incredibly supportive and flexibly for us.”

“I felt like I was at the chefs house and he was cooking specially for us. The food is incredible the dessert amazing! BYOB! Will come back soon 🥰”

“This Italian restaurant is an absolute gem — hands down one of the most authentic Sicilian spots I’ve ever visited. From the moment you walk in, you’re welcomed like family. The chef and owner couldn’t be friendlier; his passion for food and hospitality shines through in every detail. Every dish feels like a love letter to Sicily — bursting with flavor, beautifully presented, and made with genuine care. But the real surprise? The pumpkin tiramisu. A truly unique creation that perfectly balances tradition with creativity. It’s unlike anything I’ve ever tasted — light, creamy, and simply unforgettable. If I could give this place more than 10 stars, I would. It’s that special. Authentic, warm, and absolutely exquisite from start to finish.”

“Went here on a whim because I really wanted pasta. WOW what a hidden gem! We went at 8:30pm on a Wednesday and the food was SO good. Amazing if you want perfectly cooked pasta and delicious sauce!”

“We had their Caesar salad which was solid and classic in flavor. the caprese was light and delicious. we were recommended to try their melted goat cheese which I’m so glad we did. The slight sourness of the goat cheese worked well with the pomodoro sauce and we crushed it all. For the mains we split four pastas. All of these pastas were fresh and packed with flavor, I’ll start with my favorite one, the Frutti di Mare had clams, shrimp, scallops and mussels, this pasta was the premier example of the frutti di mare in terms of flavor. Ravioli Puttanesca was tasty, and had some mediterranean influences with the kalamata olives and oregano. Pappalina was ultra creamy and these tortellacci were filled with beef and veal, very comforting to say the least. My second favorite pasta was the Gnocchi alla Gorgonzola. This combo took me back to Sorrento which was the last time I had a dish similar to this flavor profile. For dessert, you can’t go wrong with a cannoli, but we had to investigate their tiramisu which had that delicate coffee flavor and smooth in texture.”

“I recently had the pleasure of dining at Pasta Al Gusto, and I can’t recommend it highly enough! I ordered the Conchiglie Salsiccia, and it was truly outstanding—perfectly cooked pasta shells paired with savory sausage in a rich, flavorful sauce. Every bite was a delight. For dessert, I tried their Tiramisu, which is made from scratch daily. It was heavenly—light, creamy, and with just the right balance of coffee and sweetness. You can really taste the freshness and care that goes into making it. Overall, the food at Pasta Al Gusto exceeded my expectations, and I can’t wait to eat there again. If you’re craving authentic Italian cuisine, this place is a must-visit!”

“Authentic Italian Flavors and Warm Hospitality! Pasta Al Gusto Ristorante Italiano is a true treasure for anyone who loves real Italian food. From the cozy, welcoming atmosphere to the friendly and attentive staff, every visit feels like a special occasion. Their carbonara is an absolute standout — made the traditional way with egg yolks, Pecorino, and perfectly al dente pasta. It’s rich, creamy (without a drop of cream!), and packed with flavor. You can tell it’s made with love and authenticity. And don’t leave without trying the tiramisu! It’s light, creamy, and perfectly balanced — the ideal sweet finish to a fantastic meal. If you’re craving an honest taste of Italy, Pasta Al Gusto delivers in every way. Highly recommended!”

“Delicious food, excellent service, and the vibes inside were great!”

“Very authentic, delicious Italian food. My second time here and I can’t wait to come back again!! Everything is fresh and homemade with generous portions. The rigatoni alla grassa is my favorite dish but I would recommend the penne bolognese and the calamari as an appetizer. The ambience and service are 10/10!”

“Very nice spot for pasta. Had a good time and would be happy to return again. Ambience and jazz music playing in the background was a plus.”

“Pasta Al Gusto: The Sicilian spot where the drama is spicier than the sauce, and the managers are watching your every sip. Walking into this Roscoe Village BYOB, I may have missed the tiny, plant-hidden sign detailing the extensive list of prohibitive rules. My bad. Every corner is covered in cameras, and the atmosphere was incredibly tense because the management is running a Surveillance State Vibe. Now, let's talk about the economics: This BYOB has a $10 wine corkage fee and a $2 per-beer fee. We knew the corkage fees were high—borderline scandalous for the neighborhood—but we were still surprised by the strict adherence to charging for every single bottle and can we opened. But wait, there’s more! If anyone at your table breathes near an alcoholic beverage, everyone must order a full entree. This was the most shocking, non-negotiable rule we faced. Forget the idea of sharing with friends or the fact that we were stuffed after ordering two of every appetizer—we were forced to buy ten full entrees anyway. A salad, even if it's the size of your head, does not count. Despite our generous order, we were constantly reminded by our overworked server that "management is watching" and counting our empties. Given we were the restaurant's only customers for five hours, you'd assume they'd want to be nice. You would be wrong. The food was utterly forgettable, the desserts bland, and the entire experience was marred by the feeling of being observed by distant, punitive managers. The only thing I'd go back for is the fine wine I brought myself. The best part of the meal was the relief of escaping the gaze of the "TV watchers." This small business model is a masterclass in how not to get repeat customers.”
