My favorite Korean restaurant! I’ve been a loyal customer since they opened. I visit here every month, sometimes even twice a week, and they never disappoint me. The service is warm and efficient. My go-to dish is the spicy beef soup (Korean yookgae jang), which is perfect for warming you up during the winter. If you’re looking for a healthy protein option, try the grilled croaker. And don’t miss the stir-fried squid—it’s so chewy and tender!

It hits the spot and a Korean restaurant is definitely a welcomed addition to the food options along Halsted. I've been here 3 times since it first opened and I've been satisfied with each visit. Pros: big, family-style portions that stretch one order; complementary bonchon, less common Korean dishes on menu, large tables for big or small parties Cons/Neutral: each entree is about $20 and up (but they do have lunch special trays now that are ~$16), casual/utility interior decor No lie, I really wanted to try jokbal (braised pork trotters) because it was in a Webtoon I was reading and they actually have it! I love the chewy gelatinous texture with that spicy hit of garlic. So satisfying. I've also gotten their spicy pork (pictured) and fried chicken. Pork is mildly spicy and coated with sauce; there was a ton left over. I made fried rice with it when I got home and it made 3 additional portions. Bang for your buck! The chicken had a glistening crunchy exterior with sweet and savory notes. Easy to eat a lot. The interior is plainly decorated, but didn't bother me. You order with the chowbus qr code at the table and the service was prompt and polite. Overall, a solid option when you have a craving for Korean-style food.

the food here was really good. although it was kinda pricey, the portions were pretty large. my family and and i had a ton of leftovers. when we walked in, we were greeted and allowed to choose our own seats. we ordered off of our phones and the food came out quickly. will definitely be coming back to try other items off the menu

Authentic Korean Food! We were served some banchan (side dishes) and the Kimchi Fried Rice is top notch (not too sweet, sour, spicy, or oily). The bulgogi is also very good as well as the jajangmyeon. Would be coming here again since it's the nearest place to satisfy kfood cravings :)

Updated review for 2026: It's been 2 yrs and we finally came back for our second visit! Ordered their Galbi tang soup (beef short rib with daikon) and it was soo tender and very clean tasting broth, not too salty and not spicy at all. Very clean clear white broth and the short rib was extremely tender, glass noodles were hard to eat, they were slippery, but tasted sweet and daikon was semi crunchy and paired well with the beef. I do think for the price of $25 the portion/bowl could be slightly bigger. They did give a good amount of short ribs but I think the overall portion could be more for that steeper price, they could at least fill the bowl up to the top with broth, if you see the pic, it wasn't filled to the top like the other soup. I understand beef short ribs are expensive nowadays in the grocery stores but I think you should at least fill it up to the top which is why I'll keep my rating at 4 stars. But overall, I highly recommend and this is a good option for soup if you're sick. Also ordered Yookgae jang (shredded beef brisket) soup it was semi spicy but not too much and broth was very flavorful. Great portion size for the price of $19, the bowl is huge! Highly recommend as well. Each soup came with its own small bowl of rice which was nice. They did change the number of banchan (pickled side veggies) before it was 6 sides and now it's 5 which is odd bc in the most recent reviews it looks like everyone else got 6 banchan, hmmm, strange. We were served seaweed (very good), potato, bean sprouts (my fav, nice crunch), kimchi, and broccoli. All of the banchan were tasty, we also had their hot tea which tasted like roasted rice which I enjoyed and recommend trying. The service was excellent, our waitress checked on us 2x and even asked if we wanted a tea refill which I appreciated. This will be our go to Korean restaurant moving forward! ----------------------------------------------------------------- HEADS UP!!!!! You have to order online through the chow bus app and they also charge for water! It's not free, $1 for a bottle and $2+ for soda, both of these reasons is why I docked a star, thought the online ordering was inconvenient, otherwise it would have been a five-star review and I rarely give five stars for dining. We dined in and once seated we were given two small cups of hot tea and served six mini appetizers: cubed sweet potatoes, marinated broccoli, spicy cucumber, sliced eggplant, fish sticks, and thinly sliced radish. My favorite was the spicy cucumber and the broccoli I don't know what they used for the broccoli but it was a great marinade. The only thing I think the wait staff should improve on is making sure they refill our tea because not once did she refill it or ask if we wanted a refill. For the entrees, I ordered the $18 Bibimbap (sweet beef with mixed veggies and rice in a steaming hot clay pot 🍲) and my bf ordered $18 jjampong (spicy noodle soup with mussels, shrimp, crab, squid, and veggies). Both were super delicious!!! Highly recommend! 🙌 I have ordered bibimbap from joong boo market on Kimball up north and I think this was way better, the meat wasn't overly sweet like joong boo makes theirs. My bf enjoyed how spicy his seafood soup was, it made his nose runny! 🔥 However, he only got one piece of crab and shrimp and they didn't give him any squid even though the menu description listed it. When comparing, he said he likes the spicy soup from joong boo market better. Overall, we both enjoyed our entrees and thought the food is excellent in terms of taste, presentation, and portion size! The inside decor is basic but clean looking. I'm so glad we found this Korean restaurant while driving by along Halsted this is definitely going to be my go-to from now on instead of driving all the way up north to joong boo market. I'm excited to return and try more dishes! 😋

whatever you do, do not order the kampoongki (spicy). the presentation was fine but the texture was pure oil, how many times was this fried it felt like chewing through a rock of pure triple quadruple fried tar. The sauce tasted fine but it was so thick it stuck to my teeth until I brushed it at home. For 20 dollars I expected better.. Overall it felt like chewing on asphalt. No clue what the other items taste like but specifically never get this one.
