Mogadishu Restaurant is a welcoming, family-run spot serving authentic Somali comfort food in generous portions—regulars rave about the juicy lamb shank with biryani, fried goat lunch special, tender beef K-Kay, chewy malawah, anjera, and fragrant black tea (sometimes offered free). Its relaxed, homey atmosphere feels like dinner at a Somali aunt’s house, ideal for casual meals and first-timers, though delivery reviews warn of occasional missing items and poor packaging.

Food was really good. Service was great. Felt like I went to a Somalian Aunt’s house and had dinner with family.

Great food and service. I eat at random places them Google what the food is lol. The owner was very helpful in telling me what everything was and making suggestions. The black tea is delicious! Love the homey feeling.

Good food and a casual setting. We enjoyed the beef sambusas, Somali rice, chicken, and lamb platters. Would love to return and try some of the fish dishes.

One of the worst foods I’ve had in a long time. Ordered delivery and the delivery person told me that the food was very haphazardly packaged, which turned out to be true. But the food was worse. Ordered a veggie plate and it tasted and looked like canned beans and spinach thrown around together. To think that costs $14 lol. Unbelievable. The anjera tasted like crepe maybe Somali anjeras are fundamentally different from Ethiopian?

Clearly a family owned little place where each dish was made with love! The staff and customers were chatting and everyone was super friendly. It was also my first time trying Somali food and I'd totally come back if I could! Lots more to try. The beef in my K-Kay was super tender and juicy plus flavorful. The Malawah was delicious too, amazingly chewy and soft but I think I ate it wrong because I covered it with hot sauce thinking it was a savory crepe. It was still tasty though! I'll get it right next time

Friendly people. I love these kind of hole-in-the-wall restaurants. My first time trying Somolian food, and it was wonderful.
