Adams Street Brewery — solid, no-fuss bar & grill in Loop. Friendly team that sets the tone. Mari Tomizawa: "Everything tastes fresh and the staff were so friendly"

Tried for several days to call the brewery and restaurant to order merchandise for Christmas and the phone lines say call cannot be connected.
Total snob, rude bartender with gray beard and bald, thin build today 12/17/2025 afternoon, from the minute we took our seat at the bar.
Great staff, food, and drinks but WATCH YOUR WALLET.

“I tried the ASB What Duh Helles Lager, followed by the ASB Hubert's Hefeweizen while my cousin stayed with a couple of pints (16oz) of ASB Ahh Vienna lager”
“Friendly welcome and prompt service.”
Friendly welcome and prompt service. Our bartender spent time chatting with us and about where we were from and also gave us some good recommendations of areas and restaurants to visit. Beer was awesome. Thank you.

“Cool atmosphere and great beers.”
Cool atmosphere and great beers! The staff was friendly and talked to me about the beers and had some excellent recommendations. I admittedly did not try any food while here so I cannot comment on that. But if you’re looking for some solid German beers, this is a great spot!

“Great beer and on of the best Angus beef burgers I’ve ever had in America, home made chips simply amazing.”

“One of the very few on-site breweries in Downtown Chicago.”
One of the very few on-site breweries in Downtown Chicago. Nice selection of mostly German Brew styles with nice finger food. Cozy place. Definitely Recommended.

Extensive list of beers with a focus on German Styles, but really something for everyone (even an award winning juicy IPA). Great food in a beautiful restaurant with plenty of old country feel. Beautiful large wood bar is warming and welcoming when you need to duck in from the bitter wind. Beers are tasty and you will not be disappointed you stopped by. @adamsstreetbrewery @berghoffchicago @brewersassoc @homebrewassoc @touchdownbrewery #ParkerPose #BeerLife #BeerLove

Great spot! Got the beer flight, pretzel, and stuffed mushrooms. Pretzel was great with yummy side sauces. The mushrooms were but undercooked, but very tasty. Great atmosphere and good service.

“Really cool brewery/restaurant with some historical significance as well.”
Really cool brewery/restaurant with some historical significance as well. My wife and I both enjoyed all the beers we had and thought it was really cool this is where Chicago's first liquor license was issued. We sat at the bar and the service great. She brought us samples of anything we wanted to try before ordering. We didn't eat, but the food looked great. Will definitely head back when I'm in Chicago again!

“The beer is excellent and so is the food, what more can you say.”
The beer is excellent and so is the food, what more can you say. I had a flight, dunkel (very good)), Have a banana (amazing), Kindleweiss, (so good) and if you like German the potato salad is spot on. Don’t miss this place.

“Having visited the Chicago Federal Reserve a little earlier, seeing all that money had made us very thirsty.”
Having visited the Chicago Federal Reserve a little earlier, seeing all that money had made us very thirsty. So we were very pleased to find the Adams Street brewery attached to the Berghoff Restaurant. We made our way to the bar and tried some of the German styled draft beers available. The barman seemed to be worked on his own - he was quick, efficient and very professional. Not much time for chatter but we had some serious drinking to do. I tried the ASB What Duh Helles Lager, followed by the ASB Hubert's Hefeweizen while my cousin stayed with a couple of pints (16oz) of ASB Ahh Vienna lager. In this part of the establishment there seemed to be only a few restrooms given the main objective here is drinking. But OK.

“Delicious food and very good beer.”
Delicious food and very good beer. 2 hazy NEIPAs, a salted caramel amber, and a blackberry porter were my favorites. The Hungarian Entree was fantastic as well!
