“Jeong delivered a stunning meal from start to finish.”
Jeong delivered a stunning meal from start to finish. The space is warm and intimate - soft lighting, flower centerpiece, with an overall elegant & cozy vibe. Service was equally thoughtful, and they even created a custom anniversary menu that made the night feel extra special! The 8-course tasting was packed with standouts: a delicate cod soup with just the right kick of kimchi spice, a perfectly seared scallop with beautiful texture, and Australian wagyu that literally melted in the mouth. I also loved the jjajangmyeon with the wonderfully chewy noodles. Dessert ended on a playful note with a dalgona-inspired ice cream layering coffee, jasmine, and strawberry in such a refreshing way. We left feeling full & balanced and were genuinely so happy with the experience. Definitely will make a return in the future to celebrate special occasions.

“Great ambience and amazing food.”
Great ambience and amazing food. Each course was prepared meticulously. Everything tasted great. My favorite was the first dish which used vegetables in the best way possible. The final desert was another favorite.

“We had a really wonderful experience here celebrating a birthday.”
We had a really wonderful experience here celebrating a birthday. Food was very good and plated carefully. I did enjoy that all the plates were very different and complimented the dish that was being served. Seemed like a lot of thought went into the dining experience and not just creating interesting flavors. I wouldn’t really call this restaurant Korean and more of a French/Korean fusion?? French technique with some korean flavors i would say. Definitely worth trying for a special occasion.

“This Korean prefix course is an absolute must-try.”
This Korean prefix course is an absolute must-try! The chef has a super creative way of using traditional elements and taking the dish to the next level. It’s so visually appealing and delicious, and the texture was unbelievable. They also added this new dish called Octopus-Kkandpungi last week, and it’s hands down the best thing I’ve ever had in a few years! Scallop dish was also cooked to perfection, but what set it apart from other dishes from Michelin-starred restaurants was the small spinach + trout roe piece that came with it. Strongly recommend trying it with a wine pairing!

“We made reservations for a Wednesday.”
We made reservations for a Wednesday. The tasting menu was both unique, interesting, and flavorful. Their cocktail list was a little bit limited, I'd definitely appreciate an expansion there while continuing to utilize Korean and Asian spirits. The plating of all of the dishes was superb, conveying the beauty and creativity of each dish the chef imagined. Standouts were the Scallop, Eomuk, and Tartare. Weakest dish was hands down the Red Corn Grits, minimal taste with the flavors of the duck and seaweed not standing out as it seems they were intended. Service was close to perfect with interesting and descriptive details about each dish, perfectly spaced apart where there was always something coming. There was also just something special about the Korean theme, not a very common occurance in fine dining. Wholeheartedly recommended.

“Jeong offers an exceptional Korean fine dining experience with thoughtfully crafted dishes and top-tier ingredients.”
Jeong offers an exceptional Korean fine dining experience with thoughtfully crafted dishes and top-tier ingredients. The wagyu beef is incredibly tender and flavorful, while the Seared Scallop with Beurre Blanc and the salmon tartare showcase perfect balance and freshness. The Wagyu Beef with Egg Omelet, Ssam Jang, and Shiitake delivers bold, umami-rich flavors. With a refined yet inviting ambiance, attentive service, and reasonable pricing for the quality, Jeong is a fantastic choice for a special night out. Street parking is available nearby, adding to its convenience. Highly recommend!

“Birthday dinner here.”
Birthday dinner here. Service was amazing, and the staff was super friendly. Eight courses, very well paced. My favorite dinner course was the salmon tartare; so fresh with a nice cream on top and crunch from the rice. Also, had some very tender shrimp, scallops, and wagyu. Finished out with two excellent desserts: a berry sorbet with a gingerbread snap and a chocolate cake with an Oreo crumble. Both super tasty and a great finish to a great meal.

Jeong in Chicago - fine dining Korean tasting menu Overall: 8.5-9/10 (I rated each indiv dish and food itself is an 8.25 but vibe, service and creativity bump it up imo) Couldn’t find a reservation for Oriole so was looking for tasting menu and found this on opentable. Lots of Reddit comments also said this was one of the best tasting menus in the city (eater agrees as well). Vibe as you can tell is great. Service was also amazing, very friendly - like they’re your friend level friendly. Drinks: I got Barley Cocktail - 8.5/10 sweet and hints of barley Friend got gochujang cocktail - 6/10.. spicy…. Hwe w/ gochujang - 9/10 great opener, fresh and pack full of flavor in the sauce. Had toasted rice (?) corn thing - amazing texture Shrimp - 9.5/10 quite possibly my fav dish of the night. Shrimp was cold which I thought I wouldn’t like but the sauce… the green sauce was an avocado puree or smth and it was seriously the star of the night. Salmon Tartar - 8/10 good, crème fresh good w/ it and nice crunch with dwenjang thing Fish cake thing - 7.5/10 - not mind blowing but sauce was amazing (recurring theme) and fish cake was softest one I’ve ever had Scallop - 8/10, scallop itself wasn’t as good as Hokkaido scallop I had but had a good bite and crust to it. Once again sauce killed it.. seaweed wrapped roe was meh, didn’t understand that pairing Australian wagyu - 7.5/10 - weakest dish imo surprisingly. No sauce but instead this seaweed thing to eat with it which added a nice sweet texture. Banchan was good but not amazing, rice was mushroom rice, really yummy Kkaetnip Icee?? - 9/10 super creative and did NOT expect it to be delicious but it was soooo good. Loved it as a dessert Hi-chew makkeoli - 9/10, house made hichew, rlly soft and amazing, ice cream yum, honey comb yum, berry puree yum = yum

We had my birthday dinner here and were blown away by the menu, cocktails, atmosphere and owner! Everyone was so kind and genuine and the Koren tasting menu was a first for us and we will be back! I am a pescatarian and they had a menu for me in addition to my husbands “normal” menu. Every course was delicious and the owner sent us home with her homemade chocolate cupcake since it was my birthday. The price was very affordable for a tasting menu and you did not leave hungry. I would highly recommend this tasting menu and want to go back soon!

Really enjoyed the salmon tartare, wagyu, kanpachi, and scallop. Didn’t love the shrimp, but that’s just personal preference - I tend to prefer grilled shrimp. Great service / ambiance.
