“For 80 years this place has been the best place for Hot Dogs in Chicago! They sell only 3 items and the lines are out the door. It's a true part of Chicago history were the experience is as good as the food!”

“Wow! Staff behind the counter was super nice and engaging. It was a great experience. No sitting, but you can stand by the wall or window.”

“I can say it over and over again Gene and Jude’s has the best hot dogs in the Chicagoland area. I love how they pile their hand-cut french fries on top of the hot dogs, grease and all. You bite into a Gene and Jude‘s hot dog and it snaps back at you. top it off with an icy cold Coca-Cola. Gene and Jude’s has been doing this right since 1946. You can drive by on a summer day or summer night and trunks are open everyone eating hotdogs from the trunk of their cars, so their cars don’t smell like onions. Now remember one thing don’t ever ever ask for ketchup on a hot dog especially at Gene and Jude’s, I guarantee you will not find any ketchup around there.”

“There isnt anything I can add about this iconic hotdog joint that hasnt already been said but I just wanted to memorialize it since Ive been visiting this place for over 2 decades, and its consistency is uncanny. My favorite is the double dog (no relish) and these are some of the best fries. The fries was fresh out the frier and nearly burned my mouth (in a good way). I like that they cut these russet potatoes in the cook line!! A definite must stop whenever near this area!”

“I live an hour and a 1/2 west of here, but I try to make it down whenever I'm in the neighborhood. We went to the displaying theater for a concert and stopped here on the way home. This place never disappoints!!”

“There's NOTHING like a Gene and Jude's hotdogs with fries!!”

“If you come to Chicagoland. You better stop here and get it all both orange and grape drinks. They place is a staple. My grand parents lived 7 mins away and we visited every weekend and ether we would get Gen and Jude’s or Jake’s pizza. But the fires from this place you must come.”

“The dogs were really good today and the French fries were the bomb. 1.9.2026”
“Confession: I'm not a hot dog person. Or at least I wasn't until Gene & Jude's made me question everything I thought I knew. This place runs like a well-oiled machine. The line moves fast, the staff is friendly, and they're cranking out orders with the efficiency of a NASCAR pit crew. Now, those fresh-cut fries... that's where the magic happens. Crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and somehow impossible to stop eating. I kept telling myself, "Just one more fry," until I looked down and realized I'd accidentally finished half of them before taking another bite of my hot dog. The portions are huge, especially for the price. In a world where a fast-food combo can cost as much as a small mortgage, Gene & Jude's is one of the best values in Chicago. I actually looked at my receipt twice because I was convinced they forgot to charge me for something. There's plenty of free parking, and the dining choices are wonderfully simple: stand at the counter or enjoy your meal in your car like a true Chicago local. No fancy décor. No gimmicks. Just an iconic Chicago institution that has perfected the art of keeping things simple. Even if you're convinced you're "not a hot dog person," Gene & Jude's might just change your mind.”
“A Chicago classic. A must stop for a quick tasty bite.”
