Fantastic dining experience at Feld in Chicago! Tried their “Cooks Will Play” experimental menu — a creative multi-course small plate format with great balance and flavor in every dish. Desserts were outstanding — not overly sweet, just perfectly refined. Service, ambiance, and presentation were top-tier. Every detail felt thoughtful yet relaxed. The menu changes daily, which makes me want to come back again. Definitely a Michelin-star contender for next year!

Highly recommend the “Chefs will play” feature coursed dinner. They accommodated a dairy free and egg free dinner for me. Staff is personable and made our anniversary dinner really fun. There’s a fire pit in the back and we ended the night sipping drinks with our fellow dinner guests.

We visited Feld on a Saturday in mid-May during peak asparagus season and were absolutely blown away. The whole experience is intimate and cozy, with everyone’s attention drawn to the open kitchen where all the action happens. You can feel the team’s passion for local sourcing and their connection with the farmers behind each ingredient. Every dish was presented tableside with great care, and the sommelier helped us pick a few amazing bottles to pair with the tasting menu, although a full pairing is available upon request. The night ended by the brick fireplace on the restaurant’s back patio, roasting s’mores and chatting with Chef Jake — such a special, memorable experience. Thanks to the Feld team!

Feld is a SPECIAL dining experience that pushes the boundaries on where you thought the concept of dining should reside. It’s thoughtful, creative, hyper-fresh, and audacious, without pretentiousness. It’s a dance that invites you to interact with the performers. There is storytelling, education, showmanship, attention to detail, and above all DAMN good food. I will be back and never soon enough.

Feld is top notch. Chef Jake has attracted a team of talented, hospitality minded colleagues to execute a delicious experience of whatever happens to be in season. Our visit was at the end of July when we visited Feld—and this time of year the most prominent thing growing in the Midwest is corn. I must admit that when the server first told us the food focus for the evening would be corn, I thought it could wind up being a bit boring. Fortunately, I was wrong. I was blown away by all the unique and tasty dishes that could be made using corn as the inspiration for the dish…and Chef and his team executed them all quite impressively. Also worth mentioning is that the space is designed in such a way that much of the food prep/plating takes place in the middle of the room where every guest can see what’s happening. It’s super interesting to watch the team plate all the dishes in the middle of the room—somewhat like culinary rock stars on a stage (see photos). Lastly, we did the wine pairing which was quite the treat and I highly recommend. I imagine this place becoming increasingly hard to get into as word gets out about how amazing an experience here is. If you’re thinking of booking…go for it!

Feld offers the perfect glimpse into the best each season has to offer. I’ve had the pleasure of dining with them a couple times now and each meal was truly unique, perfectly adjusting to reflect the ingredients of the moment. I usually prefer dining a la carte but with Feld the variety offered in around 25 fast-paced bites is too tempting to pass up. What stands out most is the genuine enthusiasm from the entire team. Each cook took time to get to know us and share some context for the different products showcased in each dish. It’s clear that this is a talented, knowledgeable team who truly love what they do.

Creative, special, and thoughtful food. Alcoholic and non-alcoholic pairings. Two of us shared the non-alcoholic pairing and I'll definitely be seeking out some of these new-to-me options. Throughout the meal you're presented with a beautiful and interesting story of how the relationships with food producers become what's on your plate. Stories are firsthand. Staff have traveled to meet the producers, including foraging themselves. Delicious, unexpected bites.
