In my quest to find the best tamales in Chicago, I tried this establishment that several people recommended. I tried the green pork and my friend the red chicken. They have meat from end to end but the masa and meat are underwhelmed. Needs more seasoning. Not more chile but spices. They are the right amount of spicy. Also they ran out of green chicken. Some clients were not happy. I would eat them again if I'm in the area. I traveled 1hr total to get them.

Clean kitchen and dining area overall. I’ve been coming here for years, even before! They used to stand outside of the Jimenez store. They used to be very spicy and full of chicken. Now there’s hardly any flavor or protein in them yet prices are insanely expensive, which I get with our current state in food prices. But I’d expect quality to remain the same or even better. The masa is sometimes salty, it’s definitely a hit or miss. The staff is extremely nice which is a plus! But they could do better 💔

Tamales have definitely changed through the 20 years. I was really disappointed this time around. Sorry guys cause I love the family. The green were not spicy at all. The masa was super dry. The Rajas had such a bitter taste and were flavorless. The Rajas were rock hard. I miss your mom making the Tamales. Since it's became the store I have seen how the flavor has changed so much. I think mom needs to put her hands back on the Tamales. Sorry guys but probably the last 2 years my Tamales keep getting worse. I don't know if because they are being such mass produced but please have mom taste them and put her touches back on them. Please!

I have come here for years. Last few times have been bad. As you can see mostly all masa and very dry. Also I know inflation but it's super expensive now. I got 2 tamales. 1 soda. 1 arroz. $18. 🙄 I will not go back.

This are some of the worst tamales I have had, they are so dry and they barely have any filling, the rajas one is extreme dry and way too much dough. I will not purchase here again, this was our 1st time buying from this place and it will surely be the last time.
