“If the popup restos don't catch your fancy there's a small bodega (what they're called in NYC, not sure what they're called here) section "up front" when you get off trains”

“Great spot with a good selection of food vendors and a small grab and go grocer.”
Great spot with a good selection of food vendors and a small grab and go grocer. There's not a ton of seating but there's usually enough to accommodate the lunch rush. A fair number of stalls haven't gotten tenants back since covid but there's more than enough to offer a good selection.

“Great experience was reminiscent of Epcot food festival.”
Great experience was reminiscent of Epcot food festival. We grabbed food from a few places to try. The empanada was hands down the best spot we tried. It’s no wonder they sell out of certain empanadas quickly tamale is a good portion but could us some seasoning. Shrimp dumplings were alright but came apart quickly when trying to eat it. Bao bun had good flavor. Macarons were ok. Probably skip it for other dessert. Would have loved to try others but we were so full.

“Had an hour layover for my next train, this was the perfect way to spend my time.”
Had an hour layover for my next train, this was the perfect way to spend my time. As soon as I walked in, I felt like I entered another planet. Every aisle and mini store had something unique. there was all types of food and cuisine here. various snacks and appetizers to full-blown out meals for any preference. The Chicago French Market at the Ogilvie Transportation Center is a vibrant and diverse culinary destination that brings a taste of Europe to the heart of the city. With an array of vendors offering everything from freshly baked pastries and gourmet cheeses to flavorful international dishes, this market is a food lover’s paradise. The atmosphere is bustling yet welcoming, making it a great spot to grab a quick bite or enjoy a leisurely meal. Whether you're in the mood for a classic French croissant, artisanal chocolates, or a hearty bowl of ramen, the market offers something to satisfy every craving. The location is incredibly convenient, especially for commuters, with plenty of seating areas where you can relax and enjoy your food. The variety and quality of the offerings make it a must-visit spot for locals and tourists alike. The Chicago French Market is a delightful experience that captures the essence of gourmet street food in an indoor setting.

“Nice place to catch your breath, refresh, get something to eat and drink.”
Nice place to catch your breath, refresh, get something to eat and drink. A LOT of good choices, something for everyone. If the popup restos don't catch your fancy there's a small bodega (what they're called in NYC, not sure what they're called here) section "up front" when you get off trains. That section has chips, fruits, flowers, juices, gum. They have chairs and tables inside and outside, whichever suits you. Not sure I saw grocery store sushi! But there's at least 2 spaces available for vendors. Maybe there'll be a sushi place next time 😁

“Talk of saffron and Phoenician trading routes had left her thinking about bouillabaisse and dipping bread into ochre-colored aioli. She saw herself standing over dishes of pork cooked with prunes, chicken flecked green with tarragon, and jewel-like pears poached in red wine.” ~Caroline Scott, Good Taste Oh what yumminess!

“Ordered the pastrami, glad I did.”
Ordered the pastrami, glad I did. I also ordered some chips (not pictured) which I didn’t need to. The sandwich alone was enough and was the phenomenal! Choice of cheeses, I went with provolone. Give this place a try in a market full of great places to indulge. These guys do it up right!

“I had the best time walking around this little market area at lunchtime.”
I had the best time walking around this little market area at lunchtime. I got a delicious Turkey Pesto sandwich from Suarez Market. The market area is a bit tight but there are plenty of seats available once you pick a vendor.

“Hella food options here, check out Festi-bowl.”
Hella food options here, check out Festi-bowl. Their smoothies are made out of frozen fruit 🤤 no ice My faves in order are the tropic thunda, pb&jam, cherry creamsicle, greenery, and then the berries and cream. You can add pure maple syrup, protein powder, hemp seeds, agave nectar, cocoa powder etc in them too. They also have dank veggie bowls. You get rice, chickpeas, choice of sauce (best sauce you’ll ever have) I love the miso basil pesto, and the piri piri. Gnarlic is their most popular. All the sauces are hand crafted and made in house. The whole place is vegan, and gluten free except the teriyaki! Also the Festi balls rock, they’re a good breakfast with the smoothies or desert. I’d compare them to energy balls. Swing by and check them out at the French market, everything is so healthy, fresh and nutritious.🥬🌱🍒🍓🍋🍍🍌🥑🥭🫐

The French Market in Chicago has quite an excellent variety of Restaurants and boutiques. Many different genres of food from French/Mexican/Asian/South American Food. Reminds me of the Reading Terminal market in Philadelphia. Great place!!

“Great place to get lunch on a weekday, there are a tonne of diverse options to choose from.”
Great place to get lunch on a weekday, there are a tonne of diverse options to choose from. Perfect for a team to go get what everyone wants. The food depends on where you get it from but most places have awesome food, but some are expensive. Menu options are clearly listed and all places accept cash or cards. There is seating available but hard to get during peak times. You can take food Togo and sit in the Ogileve Train station building that is connected via the train tracks. No dedicated parking for this place, just street parking.
