Absolutely love this place. Drove all the way from Indiana because we wanted to celebrate our anniversary here with their amazing food and I was craving their delicious alcapurria appetizer. The alcapurrias are absolutely delicious. Ended up taking 8 of them home. 🫶🏼

After running some errands today, I decided to get some delicious Puerto Rican food. My coworker told me about Borinquen, so I decided to come for lunch on my day off. I got the bistec jibarito and it was tasty!! I will have to bring my husband and my friends here later in the future. The staff here is friendly and prices are reasonable.

Oh my God, This Place is Really Cute! Let me start off by saying, oh my God, this place is really cute! If you happen to be on the north side of Chicago, this is a must-go restaurant. It’s about 10 minutes west of Wrigley Field, and it has such a charming Puerto Rican atmosphere that immediately makes you feel at home. The food was amazing! I had the jibarito with a side of rice and beans, and it was just perfect. The flavors were authentic, and every bite brought me back to my roots. I remember when Borinquen Jibarito had a location near my childhood home in Humboldt Park, and dining here brought back so many good memories. The ownership is top-notch. Angel, the owner, is an amazing guy who truly cares about his customers. The pricing is on par with the quality of food and experience, and I completely recommend coming here if you're in the area. You won’t regret it!

I love Morcilla! And I'm really picky about it. I ordered the half and it was crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. My mom said it had a kick to it, but I didn't notice it. I also had Mofongo and also has to be just right . Not dry and fully cooked. I had mine with pork rinds. There's a vegetarian option also. Order it with the consome to dip in. Perfect. The service super friendly and the layout is nice and clean with plenty of room to sit

Was just passing thru (new to me area) when I decided to stop for lunch to grab a fritter or two for the road. There aren't enough AUTHENTIC home cooked style PR restaurants in Chicago imo. I always have to stop in when I see one. Luis stated the pernil just came out the oven, soooo had to get the pernil/pork with yellow rice dinner. Very well marinated pernil, full of flavor, rice was on point too and fresh salad. DID NOT DISSAPOINT! Very little wait time if any, a plus when I'm on the road! I'm very happy with what I ordered and the service was great!! Luis was very friendly. Side note, personally, I like my pernil with extra crunchy skin, but that's just a preference. It definitely wouldn't deter me from ordering the pernil again, lol! Quiet spot to enjoy your food in peace. Plenty of (free, i think?) street parking. Convenient little parking lot for quick u turns. Now, I can't return quick enough with friends ♥

At a time when so many restaurants are looking the same and relying on fake commercial TikTok influence…it felt good to walk in here and feel like I was at a restaurant on the island, like a piece of home got served up to me. It’s very cozy, and affordable. I truly enjoyed my steak jibarrito. I also ordered a tray of pork (lechon) for a family event, and was very pleased with the pricing.

Amazing food, so fresh and flavorful. I ordered many items just to try a mixture, and it was all delicious. The pork was so juicy, the meat puffs and potato dumplings were very delicious as well. This a must try neighborhood joint. Even parking was easy to find. The food is extremely affordable, and it really fills you up.
