“Lardon is one of those neighborhood restaurants that reminds you why Logan Square has become such a great dining destination. The restaurant specializes in house-cured meats and sandwiches, and everything is executed with care. The space has an old-school charm, with exposed brick, warm wood ceilings, vintage touches, and an open deli counter that makes the restaurant feel both lively and welcoming. We came for the sandwiches and left impressed. The Italiano was outstanding, piled high with soppressata, capicola, ’nduja, provolone, house giardiniera, fresh tomato, onion, and shredded lettuce on a soft Amoroso roll. Every bite had a great balance of savory cured meats, creamy cheese, and just enough heat from the ’nduja and giardiniera to keep it interesting. The Reuben was equally impressive. Thick slices of house pastrami were layered with Wisconsin Gruyère, house kraut, deli pickles, and their signature fancy sauce on perfectly grilled marbled rye. It was everything a great Reuben should be—crispy on the outside, rich and flavorful inside, with the kraut adding just the right amount of acidity to balance the richness of the meat and cheese. The sandwiches were served with crisp, house-made kettle chips and house pickles, simple accompaniments that fit the deli perfectly. Our waiter was attentive, knowledgeable, and confidently guided us through the menu, making recommendations that fit exactly what we were looking for without ever feeling pushy. If you’re looking for one of Chicago’s best sandwich shops, Lardon deserves a spot near the top of the list. Between the outstanding cured meats, the inviting old-school atmosphere, and genuinely excellent service, it’s an easy place to recommend and one I’ll happily return to.”

“Googled for a sandwich in the area, first place that popped up. Very good. Friendly attentive staff. Italian sub was delish”

“The greek lamb sandwich and cheese platter appetizer were both amazing and at reasonable prices 🤌🏼”

“Very good service and awesome food. Very different and fresh. You should try it. 🙂”

“Italiano was exceptional. The charcuterie board was fantastic. Great change for once. Cannot wait to come back.”

“Food always takes 30-45 minutes to make but if you've got the time, their patio on a sunny day with a macchiato makes the wait fly by. The Italiano was excellent. All meats are dry-cured or smoked on site and it's clearly a step up in quality from most sandwich shops.”

“Amazing sandwiches. Three of us shared the Italeano, reubin and turkey. Huge, plus chips and pickles.”

“Lardon is a must-stop in Chicago. The charcuterie board was outstanding—thoughtfully curated, incredibly fresh, and packed with flavor. Every item complemented the next, and it was clear a lot of care goes into the details. Delicious, cozy spot with great vibes and great service. We’ll absolutely be back!”

“Given the warmer temps in November, we dined here for an early lunch and asked to sit outside which they happily obliged. We ordered a pastrami on rye which was delicious. The marbled rye was lightly toasted and had the best crunch to complement the dressing and meat. Each bite had a nice blend of all the flavors. The chips were the best chips we’ve ever had. A local Pilsner was a great addition to the dish. Some people have commented on the service and while it was quick, their pleasant nature, surroundings and delicious food makes that unnoticeable. This dining experience made me happy!”

“Had the pleasure of eating so much food at lardon tonight it was absolutely phenomenal. We ordered a charcuterie board and a sandwich to start and ended with a 10/10 steak frites and crab pasta. The food was so flavorful and absolutely amazing. The only thing better than our food was our server Meg! She was so helpful with what cheeses and meats to start with, incredibly knowledgeable and had such a great energy that perfected our dinner. Thank you so much Lardon we will be coming back asap.”
