Taste of Canton — chinese in Bridgeport. Casual, established, and unapologetic about it. The kitchen takes tradition seriously. Wallet-friendly.

“We ordered some of our go-to dishes which never disappoint: Salt & Pepper Sliced Squid, King Mushroom with Japanese Tofu (my fav), Sizzling Beef Tenderloin in Black Pepper Sauce (they make it the best), and Honey Walnut Shrimp”
The food justo be good not anymore rice out of flavor l order spicy food just to get more flavor to it but even with that still no good l'm sorry just been honest.
It was okay. I was craving Chinese food. My regular place was closed. So i decided to try a new place.
I ordered a lunch special kung Poa shrimp which usually includes egg roll.

“Excellent E-Fu noodles.”
Excellent E-Fu noodles. BBQ pork fried rice is tasty and not greasy. String beans are fresh and crispy. Chicken noodle soup a bit bland. Portions are appropriate for price. Overall better than average, especially for the price. I'll be back for the E-Fu for sure.

“My family has been eating here over the past several years.”
My family has been eating here over the past several years. Solid Cantonese food and there's free parking! They've been a reliable back up for parties when I'm too lazy to cook - always a crowd pleaser. During COVID, this place has been great for both take out and delivery. It was nice to finally dine in again! We ordered some of our go-to dishes which never disappoint: Salt & Pepper Sliced Squid, King Mushroom with Japanese Tofu (my fav), Sizzling Beef Tenderloin in Black Pepper Sauce (they make it the best), and Honey Walnut Shrimp.

“Service was great, staff was friendly.”
Service was great, staff was friendly. A Plus is that hot tea is included. Good prices for the quantity of food. My only complaint and that is why missed to give 5*, we ordered shrimp and chicken fried rice. There was almost no chicken in the rice. But will come back.

“The place was packed when I arrived.”
The place was packed when I arrived. First time here, i ordered teriyaki beef stickd and a coconut smoothie. The teriyaki sticks were full of flavor and tender, not dry. The smoothie didn't have sugar so it taste of plain coconut milk. It was unexpected but good. Other places can be too sweet. Great prices, will come back!

“I ordered the small wonton soup, small combo fried rice, and an order of pot stickers.”
I ordered the small wonton soup, small combo fried rice, and an order of pot stickers. The restaurant wasn’t busy at all when I came in to pick up my order around 12pm. The portions were a decent size considering I ordered the small size. Pot stickers are large but they’d probably taste better dining in compared to carry out. The soup was good, it had small portions of pork in it and the wontons tasted good. The rice was good as well and was a decent sized portion.

“This restaurant is specialized in American Chinese takeout as well as some popular Cantonese dishes.”
This restaurant is specialized in American Chinese takeout as well as some popular Cantonese dishes. With reasonable price you get above average Chinese food . Better yet it’s in the walking distance from my mom’s house and very convenient for us to have a quick lunch.
