“The Mongolian beef, sweet and sour pork, and gang pong gi are all incredible—just as good as Great Seas used to be back in the day”
“This restaurant perfectly recreates the look of a 1960s old-style jajangmyeon shop.”
This restaurant perfectly recreates the look of a 1960s old-style jajangmyeon shop. The taste is just like the classic jajangmyeon and really hits the nostalgia factor. Portions are generous, and it’s cash-only.

“Every dish comes out fast, hot, and perfectly cooked.”
Every dish comes out fast, hot, and perfectly cooked. The servers treat everyone like regulars, and you can tell they care about getting it right without fuss or pretense. Cannot wait to come back. There is an art to their dishes and I can’t wait to work through the menu.

“This is place is amazing.....as is Chrissy.”
This is place is amazing.....as is Chrissy! It has some of the best food in the city. Just look at the pics! Side Note: Anyone upset about them gaining popularity is just plain selfish. I want them to be rolling in money and slammed every day. They deserve it and you wouldn't understand how difficult it is to survive for so long in this industry

“Peking Mandarin Restaurant is easily my favorite Chinese spot in Chicago.”
Peking Mandarin Restaurant is easily my favorite Chinese spot in Chicago. Their black bean noodles are hands down the best in the city. The Mongolian beef, sweet and sour pork, and gang pong gi are all incredible—just as good as Great Seas used to be back in the day. The service was fantastic; our server offered helpful recommendations that really elevated the meal. The only drawback is that they don’t accept credit cards, so come prepared with cash. Stepping inside the restaurant feels like a trip back to the ’90s, bringing a wave of nostalgia and good vibes. If you haven’t tried PMR yet, you’re missing out. The food speaks for itself—you’ll be blown away.

“Absolutely loved our first experience at Peking.”
Absolutely loved our first experience at Peking. Gina was a great server, so friendly and accommodating. The food was incredible. Usually, lo mein is dry and flavorless, but not theirs. So tasteful. The kung pao beef was also incredible. We dined in and will definitely be back.

“The spicy chicken wings and chicken fried rice have always been my personal favorites.”
The spicy chicken wings and chicken fried rice have always been my personal favorites. My family has been eating here since the 90’s and even though we have all moved away from Albany Park, we always come back here at least once a year. I highly recommend eating here.

“The food here was amazing and am so glad that I was able to find this jewel not far from Chicago city.”
The food here was amazing and am so glad that I was able to find this jewel not far from Chicago city. I had jjajjangmyun (black bean noodle), jjamppong(seafood noodle), and tangsooyuk(sweet fried port). They were all great with lots of portion. Price is so good and I could not finish all. (I wish I had more room!)

“CASH/ZELLE ONLY! Amazing food. Highly recommend the hot and spicy noodles and sweet and sour beef....”
CASH/ZELLE ONLY! Amazing food. Highly recommend the hot and spicy noodles and sweet and sour beef. The portion sizes are huge and shareable between 2-3 people. Given the price point and taste I give it a 5!

“It’s been over a decade since I last ate at Peking Mandarin…crazy to see the same workers.”
It’s been over a decade since I last ate at Peking Mandarin…crazy to see the same workers! So glad that it survived Covid. The food is still on point. We ordered the traditional Korean-Chinese items. Pro tip: get the sauce on side for deep fried pork so it stays crispy. For the spicy seafood soup get it extra spicy. It’s still manageable but much more flavourful. Already thinking of when I will go again. 👍
