The food was steaming hot coming out an so incredibly delicious. I ordered beef fried rice and their three variation dumplings, which had chives, shrimp, and egg. The fried rice had good chunks of beef and was very filling, flavorful, and good portion. The dumplings arrived in a steamer basket and were so juicy, I was making a mess on the table! I did take home leftovers. Very tasty, and a popular place for order pickups while I was here. Dining in vibes are okay. Traditional Chinese decor. Plenty of seating at tables or booths, a cute little fountain by the door, and a TV setup playing gentle romantic music. Waiter was attentive when I arrived and ordered, checked in on me while eating, but I was sitting awhile before I pay and leave. It’s a small-owned place though.

DUMPLINGS! This place is awesome; great food, friendly service and some of the most delicious dumplings in Chicago. We had their egg rolls, beef Lo Mein, and Lamb Carrot pan fried dumplings. Everything was flavorful and fresh, and the dumplings were full of meat and super juicy.

I ate here by myself because I was in the area running errands. I’m so glad I randomly chose this place. The dumplings are amazing. When I ate the dumplings there at the restaurant they were so crispy and fresh! I even took and order to go to bring back to my kids who also loved it. About two days later I had my husband go back and pick up some more dumplings and this time we tried the garlic chicken and also the shrimp and rice noodles. I’ve had the general tsos chicken, pork shrimp and chive dumplings, shrimp and rice noodles, garlic chicken, green beans and the best is the rice noodles and dumplings, I think that will be my go to order. Staff is also very kind and welcoming to all.

This place is straight fire - honestly a hidden gen there is truly incredible. The dumplings are insanely well made and priced. You can tell that they were made to order because they took time and were hand shaped!!! We had the Lamb & Dill options (boiled) and were blown away by the flavor and quality! It was around $13 for 15 dumplings Try out the beef noodle soup on a cold (or honestly any day). It was around $13

Been here now couple of time, They have an extensive menu and my second visit was only for dumplings, OMG the lamb and carrot dumplings (pan-fried) ♥️♥️♥️ im never gonna forget them, the juiciness, the flavor. I have tried chicken dumpings and Kimchi fried rice, they were good too Next i wanna try the beef dumplings.

“Discovered this gem a few months ago.”

Discovered this gem a few months ago. Now it becomes my FAVORITE Chinese (northeastern) restaurant in Chicago and I’ve been coming here to eat almost every weekend. The food is so authentic and it reminds me of a lot of the dishes I had growing up in Beijing. The dumplings are all handmade with flavorful fillings and well made wrapper. I’ve tried almost all the flavors (boiled or pan fried) and they are all delicious. I’ve also tried many different dishes (10+) and they all exceed my expectations. Also the portion is very generous with decent price. I’m yearning to come back to try more dishes every weekend. On top of that, the waiter and waitress here are very friendly and professional. They always have a warm smile on their face. It always makes me happy to see a lot of non-Chinese customers enjoying the authentic food here as well. Highly recommend this place!

I haven’t been back to this spot since homestyle taste closed but I stopped in today after hearing it’s pretty similar. I ordered the spicy sour sliced potatoes and chive shrimp pork dumplings (boiled). Both dishes were some of the best renditions I’ve ever had in a restaurant. The sliced potatoes had a nice wok hei flavor and the boiled dumplings filling was flavorful (I didn’t even need dipping sauce) and the dumpling skin was perfectly al dente. The waitress who took care of me on Tuesday was very kind and efficient. Tea is not initially offered but they will give you complimentary jasmine tea if asked. I will be back to try out more dishes!

Affordable, delicious, friendly service with english speaking staff and english menu. Has a hole in the wall feel but cozy with the booth seats. We've tried both delivery and dine-in and had excellent food. Going there for the 3rd time in 3 weeks! That's how addictive this place is and because they have such a large menu, we're having fun exploring new dishes every time we eat from here.
