Firecakes Donuts is so good if you’re craving something sweet! The donuts are fresh, big, and come in a bunch of fun flavors. Every time I’ve been, the case is totally stocked and everything looks amazing. I tried the ice cream donut and it was delicious! The shop is super tiny and cozy, with outdoor seating only when it’s warm out, so it’s definitely more of a to-go vibe. Overall, Firecakes perfect when you want a delicious sweet treat. One of my favorites in the city!

We came in at 8am and the display was brimming with unique and beautiful donuts! We got 4 and they were all very FRESH and DELICIOUS! Though they were quite expensive, I would say they were worth the price! The strawberry cheesecake had a good fresh raised base, complemented by a nice strawberry flavor and cream cheese filling. The coconut cream was NOT TOO SWEET and had a nice crunchy coconut coating. The pistachio old fashioned was one of the BEST old fashioned donuts that I have had! It had a crispy crust; soft, light interior; crunchy nuts on top, and a good nutty flavor. The strawberry jelly was great as well! The jam looked, tasted, and felt like it was made from REAL strawberries! And they weren’t too skimpy with the amount filling too. I would recommend all four!

Firecakes Donuts has some of the most delicious donuts and treats in downtown Chicago. I happened to see this place on a YouTube video and had to stop while on vacation in Chicago. The girl working was so kind and gave us some of her favorite recommendations. Firecakes Donuts has a variety of different donuts that you normally don't see at other places. We got a few different donuts and they were all delicious.

Stumbled upon this little donut and coffee shop, and was not disappointed. Quick and friendly counter service. Fresh and delicious donuts - try the cinnamon roll as well! They have a variety of coffee both hot and cold. They pack it up to go, but there are a few tables out front if you can’t wait ;)

Delicious and they open early enough for breakfast. All the donuts I’ve tried are delicious, but I was also really impressed with their oat milk mocha latte. I will definitely be returning!

Firecakes Donuts on W Hubbard St near Clark St. I got a naked donut (to clarify that is a donut with no icing or toppings) hoping that it didn’t have much sugar and was glad to find there was low enough sugar for me to be able to eat. I also got a flat white coffee, although I would have more classified that being more like a dry cappuccino….however, it was a very good one! The donuts themselves are a nice heavy cake, lightly sweetened, then multiple toppings that look to change often. I’d recommend them for a stop.

Satisfying donuts from a true donut lover! Very fresh, fun selection, the only downside at this location is that it is to go only. Pistachio donut was a sour cream style, not too sweet, very green with loads of crumbled pistachios. Key lime yeast donut was fluffy with the key lime frosting filling the donut hole, reminded me of a key lime pie without the crust. I would have liked to try the donut ice cream sandwich, maybe next time.

Well dang, they put their foot in these cake - as my grandma used to say. You can taste the love in the tenderness and flavor of these donuts! The tenderness on the inside and flakiness on the outside reminds me of how my great aunt made cakes when I was little. The flavors are different takes on original boring donuts. There is an horchata filled donut that is reminiscent of a Boston Cream without chocolate, it's everything I needed in life. The cute window on the outside is just adorable and the inside is full of character; quaint and homey.

Love this place! You cant beat freshly made donuts (yes, they're made there 😍). Not only are there classic donuts delicious, but I love their monthly/seasonal releases. They never disappoint. Let's not mention how yummy their coffee is. I'm obsessed with their Mocha latte (& I absolutely miss their seasonal peppermint bark latte). This location is a small order/pick up shop, but they do have a small outdoor seating for when the weather permits. The staff here does a great job of taking care of customers. Totally stop by if you get the chance.

“They told us Chicago had good donuts.”

They told us Chicago had good donuts. Turns out they were right. Firecakes in the downtown area was easily accessible and no long lines. We tried the pistachio old fashioned which was great, a regular old fashioned and an Apple fritter. The big pieces of apple in the Apple fritter were nice little surprises and def had my recommendation. We grabbed a couple lattes as well which were just like a couple lattes. But we came for the donuts and they were great.
