Eli Tea Bar
Eli Tea Bar — among the best cafe in Andersonville. Expect noise, energy, and a full house. Not your typical menu, in a good way. Amber Cowles: "The folks on at the counter were funny and kind and the tea is probably the best I've had in Chicago so far"

“Great spot for tea (obviously). Also, nice to sit at. Games and puzzles available to do with friends.”

“My favorite spot in all of Chicago. Eli and team do any incredible job with night events for people to join (art night, open mic, date my hot friend, book club, workshops, etc.). Now lets go to their abundance of tea! Over 100 loose leaf teas that can be turned into magical drinks (hot or iced). We can't forget about the market! Books, tea kettles, trinkets, finger watches, hats, journals, sunglasses, plus so much much! Go check it out!”

“The vibes here are insane! I was in Chicago for a few days, and decided to go to their open mic night. Not only were the staff and fellow patrons friendly, but I got to connect with people and discover upcoming local artists! I had such a great time. Their Mango Turmeric Kombucha was pretty great, as well as their Brown Sugar Boba (I got mine with almond milk). I would highly recommend for anyone to stop in! I’ll definitely be attending another open mic night if I find myself in Chicago in the future.”

“I love this little place. Warm and charming and felt so at home. Treats and special flavors. Vibe so relaxing. Highly recommended.”

“I chair Chicago events for a professional advocacy and networking organization & we partnered with Eli Tea Bar recently. The space, team, options, and community they have built here are beyond wonderful. It’s such a bright, encouraging and inclusive business in the Andersonville neighborhood. Their social calendar is packed to offer activities that foster connection, & their owner is present in the business. I can’t say enough good things about this place.”

“I had the most delicious Matcha latte followed by a strawberry Boba tea. Elli spoke to us about the importance of queer spaces to connect with our community. I love the space that they have created for us. I’m inspired to do more of their events too. I will be back.”

“I tried the Smoked Hot Chocolate, and I really loved it. It’s warm, smooth, and not too sweet. The light smoky flavor makes it unique and very comforting. The atmosphere is cozy, artistic, and inviting. Beautiful teapots, tea shelves, soft lighting, and thoughtful details make the space feel calm and creative. A perfect place to slow down and enjoy the moment. I’ll definitely come back.”

“I had the pumpkin spice tea latte, and the Traverse cherry iced tea and they were both delicious. I feel as though pumpkin spice can be a hit or miss, but this was totally a hit . My friend had the blood orange, which was very nice and floral. The staff could be a little bit more engaging and helpful due to the fact that there’s so many options but overall very nice place to go and have tea even in the evening. They have many caffeine free options.”

“You’ll come back for the matcha and stay for the community. This place serves a comprehensive tea selection and expertly crafted drinks. The thing I love most is that owner has gone above and beyond to create a safe inclusive space for the recovering and sober curious community. They host a diverse line-up of monthly and weekly events where you’ll willing put down your phone and engage with someone IRL…”

“Nice cozy store. They sell mugs and puzzle sets too which make for great gifts.”

“This was the yummiest strawberry milk bubble tea I’ve ever had!!!!!”
