“The bread had that perfect crunch, and they didn’t skimp on the meat”

“Amazing little sandwich I randomly just walked by.”
Amazing little sandwich I randomly just walked by. It’s family owned - really sweet owners working at the counter. They bake their bread every day. Everything here is homemade. I got the chicken salad sandwich so good ! Hard to find chicken salad in the city !

“I ordered an Italian Sandwich and a Chicken Wild Rice soup.”
I ordered an Italian Sandwich and a Chicken Wild Rice soup. The bread was good and sweet - I know people may not like that sometimes but I think it adds a nice fluffy sweet flavor to the sandwich and I think the sauces were good. The soup was good but not as hot as I would like it to be. Please keep in mind that they charge extra due to inflation and those prices are not reflected at all on their menu prices. I order an 8inch, a 12 Oz soup, and a Gatorade and found myself charged $20 (they told me soup was 5.50$, 3$ for Gatorade, and 7.75$ for the sandwich). I turned around after paying and saw a faint sign that they now charge extra due to inflation. My coworkers speculate there's about a 20% charge added, which would make sense. In my opinion if a local join charges extra or raises prices I can totally support that. I think local joints are vital and add a lot of good flavor to a community. And with rising costs it's important to keep up with prices to make a living. I will always, always support price raises and would have gladly paid $10 for this "$7.75" sandwich. But I think transparency is very important. I think you should always be honest and upfront about costs so people know what they're paying for and they don't get a nasty surprise at the register. Why are soup prices blotted out on the menu? Why is the extra charge sign not behind the register where people can see it naturally? Why is the extra charge amount not specified? I am sure the owners can tell you the prices themselves but that adds a layer of inconvenience. When asking how much a Gatorade cost I was just tossed a hand wavy "I think it's like $3 or something". You gotta list this out or have this knowledge ready at the register. I might come back but we will see

“Somewhat disappointing sandwich.”
Somewhat disappointing sandwich. Was smaller than expected for the price and as others have mentioned, definitely light on the meat and veggies. Maybe that’s a personal preference, but I’d say most people would be disappointed with the carb to meat ratio here. The overall taste was just okay. Did enjoy the bread but wouldn’t say it makes up for the lack of filling. For this kind of deli sandwich, I’d definitely prefer Jimmy John’s or jersey mikes. Homemade baklava was good!

“Almost $10 for the tiniest breakfast sandwich ever.”
Almost $10 for the tiniest breakfast sandwich ever. I was honestly really shocked when I opened the sandwich to find the skimpiest piece of ham. If you’re going to charge that much, at least give better portions.

“The saddest sandwhich shop I've ever been to.”
The saddest sandwhich shop I've ever been to. Mind you, I only took one bite of my sandwhich. Chicken is frozen tyson type chicken served exceptionally cold, clearly not fresh, a few pieces of iceberg lettuce, tomatoes, on dry, yes dry pita bread. Buffalo sauce is made with the cheapest bottom shelf ranch dressing and buffalo sauce. Beside the cheap ingredients, the sandwich was so small i was surprised when it was handed to me. Everyone in my office agrees, you can get a better sandwich at a gas station, not a truck stop, but those premade gas station sandwiches. I've been here 3 times, each time is worst than the last.

“It was a good breakfast sandwich, would absolutely go again.”
It was a good breakfast sandwich, would absolutely go again. A bit expensive though, but what in the loop isn't these days? Yes I could get a sandwich cheaper at Dunkin or Potbelly, but I watched the chef cook my egg and saw the bread baking so I feel the ingredients are better here than fast food so it's worth the price.

“The staff here is incredible.”
The staff here is incredible! Made me feel so warm and welcomed, and you can tell they are passionate about the place. I stopped in for breakfast for the burrito and got a piece of baklava which were both great! I need to go back for lunch:)

I was recently on a business trip in Chicago and happened to stop by international sandwich shop on my way to the office. The shop was spotless and well-organized, and the staff couldn’t have been friendlier. I ordered the Italian sandwich, and it was easily one of the best I’ve had in a long time—the bread was incredibly fresh.

This is by far my favorite sandwich shop in the loop. The staff is so friendly and the food is amazing. They make a great breakfast sandwich and their meatball sub is to die for. Great homemade pastries too. Don't miss this hidden gem.
