“I love how it is conveniently next to the hotel lobby”
Quaint little coffee shop with basic breakfast options at low prices.
Friendly staff. Bread and pastries were so delicious.
I love this place. I live in Missouri, where this infused beverage concept hasn't quite taken off like here.
They made me a delicious vegan chocolate raspberry birthday cake. Vegans and non vegans loved it.

“Quaint little coffee shop with basic breakfast options at low prices.”
Quaint little coffee shop with basic breakfast options at low prices. The bacon, egg, and cheddar on buttermilk biscuit, is a classic. You can replace the biscuit with a bagel. It was delicious! The Eckhart Park has sausage, egg, cheddar, arugula, pepper jelly, on a buttermilk biscuit. Lovely! Last but not least, the Commercial Park is a sandwich with bacon, egg, cheddar, hot pepper mayo, with a choice of bagel: plain, cheese or everything bagel. As for drinks, you can choose from drip coffee or espresso. They also specialize in gingerspice latte, pumpkinspice latte, peppermint mocha, and lavender matcha latte. I love how it is conveniently next to the hotel lobby. You don't even need to go out of the hotel. There's a connecting door inside the lobby.

Cute little bakery attached to Acme Hotel. I ❤ the cake ball variety and flavors. They are so yummy. I'm a huge coconut fan and Coconut Dream donut was wonderful.

“West Town Bakery was a fantastic cake vendor.”
West Town Bakery was a fantastic cake vendor. Samantha, our pastry chef, was so accommodating from start to finish. Not only did she rise to the challenge of creating a whimsical wedding cake for me but the cake itself was also moist and delicious. My wedding was 2 weeks ago and I'm still getting compliments about how good the cake was. My husband and I plan to visit the bakery sometime to order another cake. Absolutely great service.

“This review is based on their doughnuts.”
This review is based on their doughnuts. I tried the chocolate yeast, strawberry frosted yeast, and the nutmeg cake doughnut. They were all surprisingly good. From afar they look dry and old, however, the doughnuts were moist, with the yeast ones being pleasantly chewy and on the sweeter side, but not as sweet as firecakes. The balance of sweetness for all the doughnuts was actually quite remarkable, as I think they’re just sweet enough for a dessert, but not so sweet to keep you from eating them for breakfast. The nutmeg cake was interesting, and I believe it is reasonable to say it can compete with doughnut vault’s buttermilk old fashioned, which I think is one of the best in Chicago (and possibly the USA).The chocolate yeast here definitely is my favorite in the city. I thought Stan’s donut shop had my favorite chocolate doughnuts, but this place has a chocolate yeast doughnut that’s simply dwarfs Stan’s chocolate in comparison on every measurable standard. It was fresher and chocolatier, as opposed to being sugary. Yeast doughnuts are also more nutritious than their cake-counterparts, so the fact they have a chocolate yeast makes the indulgence relatively justifiable, whereas eating a cake chocolate doughnut from stand is difficult to justify. Besides, this place is authentic and very much original to Chicago, so I’m going to hope it’s OK to assume their ingredients and doughs are made onsite and NOT shipped from say California (as is most likely the case for Stan’s!). Overall, I was really impressed with this place and look forward to return to try their cake balls, which are one of the most lauded items on their menu.

“Really good ice mocha.”
Really good ice mocha! The chocolate croissant was delicious as well. I wish it had been warm, but they were about to close and had everything shut down

“Huge disappointment.”
Huge disappointment. I used to get the trail mix scone weekly and when I got one here on my trip back to Chicago it was stale. The cinnamon roll was also very dry. I’m not sure if the quality has gone down or it is just this location. They had very minimal selection at 9a on a Saturday and they weren’t expecting a delivery of more pastries that day. The furniture was stained. The dark matter coffee is good, so if you’re just needing a coffee would still recommend. Otherwise try your luck on a fresher pastry at Eatily on the same block

Oof. Place was pretty dirty in a way you can tell it hadn't been cleaned for a while. Gal at register looked beyond annoyed that I was there. And when I saw my dirty chai was being made with liquid Oregon mix...I knew this place was a no-go.
