“I am so thrilled that Verzênay has their beautiful storefront in Lincoln Park after falling in love with them at the Green City Market. This place is an absolute masterpiece. The Pastries: The lamination here is world-class. The Raspberry Rose Croissant and the Kouign-Amann are out of this world—perfectly flaky, buttery, and not overly sweet. They also do incredible French-Indian fusion treats like the Desi Velour that you can't find anywhere else. The Savory Options: Their Mushroom & Gruyère Cheese Melt and the quiches make for the perfect breakfast or lunch. Plus, knowing everything is Halal-friendly and sustainably sourced makes it even better. The Vibe & Service: Chef Arshiya and her team are incredibly welcoming. The cafe is cozy, clean, and pairs perfectly with a Counter Culture coffee or a hot tea. Chicago has a lot of bakeries, but Verzênay stands far above the rest. A true neighborhood gem that deserves all the national praise it gets!”

“We ordered a custom cake for a university of chicago graduation. We wanted the cake to reflect the colors of the school, the graduation and a sort of Surfing reference. We also wanted the cake to reveal the Cameroonian flag colors when cutting it open. Arshiya was wonderful to work with. The cake came out delicious, beautiful and exactly what we were hoping for (the photos do not give it justice!). Thank you so much for making our special day even more special!”

“Lovely little spot in Lincoln Park. A nice selection of sweet and savory along with coffees, teas, etc. If it’s busy, space is limited. As long as people are using their inside voices, moderate volume to be able to enjoy conversation with others. The quiche and pear pastry were very good. I would definitely recommend.”

“Light, airy space and helpful staff. Lots of places to sit, and self-service water/utensils. Got a cortado and cold brew and thought they were both delicious! I also tried the turkey baguette and wow, the quality of the ingredients shone through. It was simple but delicious, the bread wasn’t tough but still crispy, and they warmed it up which made it even better. I also loved the dairy-free carrot cake with chocolate hazelnut frosting. It was moist and flavorful without being too sweet. Also chef Kat does bagels on Thursdays, so they had a French onion soup bagel featured which looked amazing.”

“So good!!! The grilled cheese with sourdough was amazing!!!”

“Verzênay Chicago, founded and led by Chef and owner Arshiya Farheen, is a truly interesting and inviting high tea meeting place brings that French pastry expertise to every detail of the menu. One of the most delightful touches here is the personal care the host puts into preparing teas and coffee for guests. The sandwiches and sweets pair nicely with the handcrafted beverages, making it a pleasant spot for both casual meetups and more relaxed business conversations. Overall, the atmosphere and offerings make it a very good place to hold a meeting or simply enjoy a thoughtful, high-quality high tea experience.”

“I went here for a holiday tea service and it was wonderful. The amount of savories vs. sweets had a nice balance and standouts were the cream puffs and chicken slider. We were a large group but service managed to be orderly and fast. The blue tea was also good. Love this place!”

“This place was great! Food was delicious. Thought I would be hungry after but was so full. We did the regular menu for our tea. Tight space but was so bright and cute.”

“Our group had a private tea event in the afternoon and the food was absolutely delicious. My favorite thing was the Swan choux with a surprise strawberry jam on the inside when you took a bite. My photo was just a partial amount of the food offered. It was somewhat pricy due to the large party and gratuity, but we had 2 types of tea from a nice selection of mixes, a huge amount of sweets & savory food that filled me up, and fantastic wait staff that kept stopping by to refill the hot water and check if we wanted another tea selection. Their holiday tea is definitely worth a visit!❄️☃️ Definitely recommend making a reservation and stopping by💖”
