Angelo's Wine Bar
Angelo's Wine Bar — honest bar & grill in Lincoln Square, where the bucatini is worth ordering. Casual, established, and unapologetic about it. The cocktail program is serious. "By far the rib was our favorite, the smoky flavor came out well, yet was extremely juicy" — Bradford Benson Taylor [$$, patio]

“Happen to walk by and saw inside was crowded. Noticed mostly women and it was 20% off for teachers. Menu was decent with good wine. Waiter seemed a little off. Probably will not come back.”

“I came here with a friend for restaurant week (3 courses for $39 a person!) and it was phenomenal. The food is so incredibly good. I had the arancini, fried ratatouille, and tiramisu. The tomato sauce has this delicious sweetness that just brings the dish together. The garlic and basil blend in the ratatouille was perfect and the tiramisu was incredibly moist. Highly recommended. If you want to treat yourself, definitely come here.”

“The short rib ravioli amd caesar salad were great, so was the service”

“My husband and I went here to celebrate Valentine’s Day the following Saturday. The atmosphere was stunning! Very warm and rustic. Our server was very professional and did a great job at checking on us, even as the place started to become busy. We had small plates, entrees, and cocktails. Everything was so flavorful and delicious. Some of the best Italian food I’ve had in a while!”

“This was an average dinner! Service was solid and attentive, but the food was just okay. The pimento deviled eggs were nothing special and wouldn’t order again. The short rib ravioli was also okay but on the bland side. My companion said this wasn’t their favorite cacio e Pepe either. No big complaints but nothing worth returning for.”

“Food quality was extremely lack luster. Food here seems to have gone down and presentation hasn’t been good for years. They gave us an order of bruschetta that was one whole piece of bread and sides that were so empty. Service was also unfriendly and didn’t seem to care. Overall I don’t expect to be dining here in the future.”

“Compre 2 tiramisu muy secos, una burrada el tomate viejo flácido y dañado al igual que las hojas de albahacar quemadas negras no es fresco. No lo recomiendo”

“Beware ordering delivery from this place ESPECIALLY on a Friday or Saturday night. Ordered via Grubhub and the Calamari was nothing but fried batter! I’d actually never seen anything like this before with Calamari. I called the restaurant to let them know that there was a serious food quality issue and while Megan was extremely professional, the guy who initially answered the phone was extremely defensive, rude, and then tried to accuse me of trying to get a free meal.Absolutely outrageous! If you zoom into the picture, you’ll see that 90% of the dish is ALL batter. Going forward, they’ve lost my business for good! I’ll fry my own damn calamari.”
“Came in on a Sunday to watch the World Cup matches. The special was a $10 double cheeseburger with fries or onion rings and .50 cent buffalo wings. Both dishes were delicious and probably the best deal in Chicago. Their Chicago thin crust pizza is tasty and they have a pretty extensive menu of homemade dishes. I would also recommend their homemade Frose.”
