The Dawson
The Dawson — well-regarded american in Fulton Market. Buzzy, energetic room where the crowd adds to it. If you drink, start at the bar. "Their burger was a nice juicy charred burger as well" — Abdallah Al-Qudsi [$$, patio]

“We had our ceremony and reception at the Dawson and I cannot speak more highly of our experience day-of and working with the team. As regulars of the restaurant, one of the reasons we chose them as our venue was because of how incredible their food, drink, and staff are. They remember our names and treat us like family every time we come back, and I’m happy to say this hospitality translated (and went above and beyond) to our wedding as well. Erin was our event coordinator and she was absolutely wonderful to work with. We had over 170 guests with a large number of vendors, and just 8 months to plan everything. She was highly attentive and responsive throughout the entire process, handling all of the last minute changes that arose and did an amazing job coordinating day-of. The staff really took care of us and our guests, handling the vendor loadings, ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, and reception seamlessly. The food was just fantastic and for weeks after the event people are still reaching out to us to highlight how the meal and service was the best they’ve had at a wedding. I couldn’t be happier that we chose to celebrate our wedding at The Dawson and I highly recommend them for any event, large or small.”

“I had a great experience at The Dawson and want to give a huge shoutout to Boz at the bar. I came in solo, and he made me feel welcome from the moment I sat down. Boz was an incredible bartender friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. He gave me excellent food recommendations, and the duck wings were absolutely delicious! Great service can make all the difference, and Boz truly elevated my dining experience. If you're visiting The Dawson, I highly recommend sitting at the bar and letting Boz take care of you. I'll definitely be back!”

“Great place with nice and delicious menu! Multiple screens for World Cup Soccer!!! ⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️”

“The Dawson was such a great experience from start to finish! The food was delicious, the drinks were amazing, and the ambiance was absolutely beautiful. The restaurant is SO cute. I could not stop taking pictures because every corner was picture-worthy. Our server, Nicholas, was so fun, sweet, and attentive, and he truly made the experience even better. I would honestly come back just to have him as my server again! The strawberry Aperol Spritz was a pleasant surprise because I usually do not like Aperol Spritzes, but this one was so refreshing and flavorful. Everything we ordered was great, and the overall vibe of the restaurant was perfect. I will definitely be back!”

“This was our first time at The Dawson and we were absolutely blown away! The inside of the restaurant is beautiful, with such a modern, romantic and sexy vibe. The food was 10/10 and so beautifully presented. We started with the Chorizo fondue, which was delicious, but it was not a fondue. It was more of a chorizo and cheese dip. I’m not sure if whoever made that menu item knows what a fondue is…but that was no fondue. Nevertheless, it was delicious! The drinks were delicious as well! The staff was very kind, with a warm welcome as soon as we entered, and they came by to our table to ask how our night was going- very kind! I highly recommend and will certainly be returning!”

“The entire experience was amazing from start to finish! We came in to celebrate our engagement, and the staff made the night feel incredibly special. A huge thank you to the restaurant for the thoughtful champagne—it was such a kind gesture and the perfect way to celebrate such a memorable moment. The food was absolutely delicious. My favorite dish of the night was the jalapeño biscuits—they were warm, flavorful, and had just the right amount of spice. Honestly, I could have eaten a whole basket of them! Everything we ordered was wonderful, and the service was attentive and welcoming throughout the evening.”

“My husband and I had dinner at The Dawson for Valentine’s Day. The space is beautiful. Service was outstanding and food delicious. They only offered a Valentines Day pre fixe menu however there was a nice amount of dishes to choose from within the 4 courses. Our waiter suggested the Short Rib and Polenta which I ordered and the Halibut which my husband ordered. Both were great choices. Wood fired oysters good, Lobster DeJonge was outstanding. Wedge Salad a little too dressed for me but was still good. Service and ambiance great. My only concern is that I later saw that I was charged $10 additional for the sorbet and berries which was on the pre fixe menu as a dessert option. I don’t remember seeing anything indicating there would be an additional charge.”

“Brunch at Dawson’s was a great surprise. I’m usually a meat-and-potatoes, burger kind of person, but this place made stepping outside my comfort zone easy—and worth it. Every course was excellent. If you normally play it safe with food, this is the perfect change of pace. Highly recommend.”

“Food: delicious. We went for restaurant week and got the jalapeño cheddar biscuit, duck enchilada and chocolate donut. All great. Service: they go above and beyond here. I don’t recall the waiter’s name (sweet Caribbean gent) - took great care of us. He was kind and friendly. The rest of the staff checked on us constantly too. Atmosphere: beautiful space with ample lighting and elbow room. Sometimes for restaurant week, places tend to slack, but Dawson did not. I was very impressed with the food and team behind it.”

“We've been wanting to check out "The Dawson" for a while. We heard great things about the atmosphere and food. We were NOT disappointed! Today they had live music to accompany the brunch. The few DJ's we heard were FIRE! They had people dancing like crazy. My wife has a drink or two and joined them. The "Housepresso" crew who were hosting the music portion pulled off a super cool concept for brunch.”

“Great space but a little cold so bring a sweater. Good selection of wine by the glass. We got the shishito peppers to start. Very good but a bit heavy on the sauce. Then we got the pull apart bread which was so soft and yummy. I shared the fish, pumpkin ravioli, and cauliflower gratin with a friend and we were very satisfied. We went on Tuesday which were two dollar oysters and they were fresh. My husband got the burger which he said was ok but he is picky on his burgers haha. Would come again as I hear their brunch is good and they have a great patio in the summer. Service was a little slow but they had big parties”
