Trivoli Tavern — top-tier american in West Loop. Always packed, always worth it. The cocktail list is worth exploring. "The crust is flaky, the inside is creamy/savory" — George Clydesdale

“An absolutely stunning restaurant.”
An absolutely stunning restaurant. One of the best ambiance’s in the whole city. The food never disappoints. Highly recommend the spicy vodka pasta and the sticky date cake - both are classics. I’ve been here several times, and I’m excited to return!

Went here with my girlfriends to celebrate my birthday a little over 2 weeks ago and LOVED IT! Our server Lee was so lovely! He gave us great food + drink recommendations, was super patient with us, and overall had a great vibe. The food here is unreal too (the sticky date cake was my favorite!) Thank you for making my birthday special!

“This was our second time stopping by Trivoli Tavern, this time specifically for happy hour.”
This was our second time stopping by Trivoli Tavern, this time specifically for happy hour. On our last visit, we only had a couple of cocktails and a quick bite, so we knew we had to come back for a full meal, including dessert. We stopped by on Wednesday at 4:15 pm, and to our surprise, the restaurant was already busy even though they open at 4 pm. We managed to grab the last two seats at the bar. This visit, we came ready to dine. We started with a couple of drinks from the happy hour menu an Old Fashioned for my husband and a tiny dirty martini for me. Both were great. We also ordered the meatball sliders, which were delicious and absolutely worth trying. For our main, we ordered one of their homemade pastas, the spicy orecchiette. It was fine, but not something we would order again. We also couldn’t resist the steak frites, and Trivoli did not disappoint. The steak was cooked medium and was incredibly tender. Last but not least, the date cake. This dessert completely stole the show and is 100% worth the hype. The perfect balance of salty and sweet, especially paired with the vanilla ice cream. Overall, we had a delicious meal and a great experience. We’ll definitely be back soon.

“Fantastic ambiance, amazing hospitality, and delicious food.”
Fantastic ambiance, amazing hospitality, and delicious food. We ordered the American breakfast, hash browns, and Earl Grey tea—everything was excellent. The thick-cut bacon was especially delicious. This place is not just somewhere to eat; it’s a complete experience with its food, décor, and warm hospitality.

“I have dined at Trivoli Tavern numerous times over the years while visiting family.”
I have dined at Trivoli Tavern numerous times over the years while visiting family. I recently became a Chicago resident, and Trivoli has become a culinary staple that has yet to disappoint. While the menu may seem chaotic and busy, they have found a way to provide their customers with top-notch food within a very diverse menu. In order to truly enjoy the diversity of this menu, I would recommend this dining experience to groups of four or more who aren't afraid of sharing dishes amongst the table. It's crucial to give the menu a full head-to-toe look over before ordering because you might just miss something that speaks to you. While I have certainly not had the whole menu, I've been impressed with what I have ordered. Food: 8.5/10 Warm Parkerhouse Rolls - These bad boys are dangerous little devils. If I'm not mistaken, these used to be complimentary, but for 8 dollars you can probably skip them and focus on the rest of the menu. I'm not much of a butter guy, but I put a heavy layer of the black truffle honey butter on and its pure magic. Crab Rangoons - I've had a lot of goons in my day, but these are a must have. The crispy exterior and gooey interior provides customers with a fun bite that is both creamy and slightly sweet. The sweet chili sauce ties all the flavors together with a sweet yet slightly spicy glaze. Be careful not to overdo it on the goons before the rest of your meal arrives. Coconut Shrimp - Have I had better coconut shrimp? Yes, I have. Where these delicious? Yes, they were. There is a tangy orange-chili marmalade to accompany these which might be better than the actual coconut shrimp. Tavern Wedge Salad - Perhaps the best wedge salad I've ever had. I usually don't like wedge salads because they are an actual wedge of lettuce that requires a knife to eat. Trivoli takes the time to deconstruct the wedge salad while maintaining the traditional focus of the dish. The gorgonzola and ranch combo is powerful and the obvious focus of this dish. The bacon pieces are thick cut and glazed to perfection, which compliments the dressing very well. Vodka Rigatoni - ADD SPICY SAUSAGE. A rich and truly delightful pasta which is enhanced exponentially with the spicy sausage and may even have you reaching for a sip of water between bites. The pasta has been cooked to a perfect al dente each time. Just a few bites of these rich dish will leave you satisfied. Double Cheeseburger - Debatably one of the best things on the menu. It's a simple dish but done to perfection. This is a rich yet simple burger, which could complete with the rest of the best burgers in Chicago. If you are with a group, they will split it into 4 servings for you as well. Chicken Pot Pie - This is one of Trivoli's most popular items for a reason. The crust is flaky, the inside is creamy/savory... not much else to be said. This is comfort food done at a professional level. Steak Frites - My groups have gotten this twice and it was what you would expect steak and frites to be at this price. It is one of their cheaper steak options, but in my opinion, it was nothing that I would come back for. Shaved Prime Rib Sandwich - This bad boy is life changing, and I believe it is pre-portioned into 4 servings. The prime rib is shaved thin and tender. The peppers and swiss cheese add extra flavor you didn't even know you needed. The side of au jus and the sandwich's French bread were a match made in heaven. It goes down the hatch a little too easily and leaves you wanting more. Sticky Date Cake- If you can make it through dinner this is one of the best desserts I've had in the area. I even think about this dessert from time to time when I've had a long day. A nice rich cake with a brown butter sauce accompanied with ice cream. Everything works in harmony and everything about this is beautiful. The portion is massive and perfect for sharing.

“Not sure how but every time I come here I’m more impressed.”
Not sure how but every time I come here I’m more impressed. This time Gabriella our server went above and beyond to take care of my table. She had a real inviting personality that enhanced our dining experience. The food runners and bidders were also attentive and friendly. We got here right at 4 for happy hour and the place is was already filling up and completely full within the half hour. I ordered the pike fish n chips which is always good. One of the best ones I’ve found in the city. Also ordered the pasta rigatoni with added chicken. I order this dish at every Italian restaurant I go to and Trivoli still is unmatched. The sliders are always good (chicken and beef) I recommend trying them as an appetizer or a meal. Always worth the wait and never risk a skip. Make a reservation if you can but if you can’t the hosts are always friendly and willing to work with you.

“Trivoli lives up to the hype.”
Trivoli lives up to the hype. The outside atmosphere is like a scene in Italy, while the inside is the true tavern feel. We ate outside as the weather was so nice. I ordered the spicy orecchiette, and it was blasting with flavor. The service was great and very knowledgeable about the menu. I would recommend this restaurant to anybody visiting Chicago or, if you are a local, a great date night spot.

“I'm lucky enough to wait only for 15 min before getting a table outside without the dinner reservation on a weekend.”
I'm lucky enough to wait only for 15 min before getting a table outside without the dinner reservation on a weekend. Thought the outside table was nice but later recognized that it was nothing compared to the table inside the dining room which was beautiful. The place was packed but the service was still on point. Really love their smoked pork ribs and the fries on the side of steak frites. Pasta and salad was okay.

“We had an good dinner at Trivoli Tavern.”
We had an good dinner at Trivoli Tavern! The atmosphere is cozy, stylish, and perfect for a night out in the West Loop. The service was friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. We ordered the Lobster Maki Roll, Baked Crab Cake, Slow Roasted Meatballs, and Spicy Shrimp Pasta — every dish was outstanding. The Lobster Maki was fresh and flavorful, the Crab Cake was rich and perfectly baked, and the Meatballs were tender with a delicious, savory sauce. The Spicy Shrimp Pasta was the highlight — just the right amount of heat and packed with flavor. Highly recommend for anyone looking for great food, cocktails, and a lively Chicago dining experience!

I really can't give this place enough hype, beautiful dining room, lovely blues/jazz ambiance, incredible service. Jen was a treat, and she led us all the way to the promiseland with our suggestions. Every dish was phenomenal, my favorite was the Hot Nashville Sliders, even more so than my main, the Vodka Rigatoni. I felt as though the Artichoke dip was unserseasoned, and the Mushroom side was overseasoned but my pallette could also have been shot from trying like 10 different dishes. Nevertheless I hope I get to come back on my return to Chicago because this reataurant was a phenomenal dining experience.
