“Also, their ice cream is hard dipped and reasonably priced, they’re going to give Anette’s a run for their money especially since Jenni’s ice cream closed down”

Oh my word. I don’t think I can ever find a burger joint better than this. First of all, the vibes are absolutely incredible. There’s no music playing (if there is it’s very quiet), the workers are super welcoming, and the atmosphere itself is so relaxing. It’s truly just vibes! Second of all, the food is out of this world! The burgers are so fresh and delicious, and the milkshakes are out of this world! Overall, I totally recommend this place if you’re looking for a comforting burger. I will definitely be back!

This is one of my favorite locations by far aesthetically the place is soothing. The big tree in the middle of the restaurant gives it a nice warm welcoming that traps you into stayijg longer and enjoying the company of others. The food never disappoints! The staff is always friendly and attentive !

“The woman behind the counter was very kind when I asked for a gluten free bun because I forgot when I ordered.”
The woman behind the counter was very kind when I asked for a gluten free bun because I forgot when I ordered. The bun was a bit crumbly but otherwise everything was delicious.

“Good burgers are so easy to find in Chicago but the flavor of these burgers really stands out.”
Good burgers are so easy to find in Chicago but the flavor of these burgers really stands out. The fries and the garlic anoli were also very good. The open wall concept and the tree in the middle provide a great atmosphere while the a/c is still strong enough to provide relief from the elements on hot days. The milkshakes were flavorful with the perfect consistency.

“Best chicken tenders, hands down!!”
Best chicken tenders, hands down!!! Ask for some honey mustard and get some golden fries with aioli on the side — chef’s kiss 👩🏽🍳💋 Can’t wait to come back and try a burger or wings from their other location! Food was so good I didn’t get a picture.

Oh god. This is the most INSANE burger. And you’ll never find this quality for 10.99$ in the United States of America. Don’t know why you’d go to Au Cheval, just get it at the Small Cheval. Take out service is phenomenal, order ready in <10min. Highly recommend :)

“As you can see I ate all my food before I took the picture.”
As you can see I ate all my food before I took the picture. I ordered a double cheeseburger with all the fillings and my friend got a single. We shared fries. Additionally we had a strawberry milkshake and a strawberry cheesecake concrete. I just wish there was a little more patty to my bun. Besides that it was cooked to a perfect medium and seasoned well. The toppings didn’t overtake the flavor either.

“An instant hit on Halstead.”
An instant hit on Halstead. Plenty of space for strollers, so very kid friendly (the place was full of young families). No reserved seating, you order at the counter and are given a buzzer. Seating is first come first serve. Food wise the burger is just as good as anything you’ll find in the area. The fries are hot and crispy and they give you plenty of sauce. Definitely ask for the garlic aoli. Also, their ice cream is hard dipped and reasonably priced, they’re going to give Anette’s a run for their money especially since Jenni’s ice cream closed down. Only call outs are the drinks are pricey for what it is (pre made). And, No TVs for sports.

“The burger was so dry.”
The burger was so dry. Seemed terribly overcooked and was barely warm. Good bun and bacon. My friends kept telling me how good the burger is but that was about 5 years ago. I'm right by one now so thought it could be a new spot for me. Guess it went downhill since then. Almost seems like it’s a chain now with so many locations. Maybe it’s just that quality suffers when that happens. Anyway, the vibe in there was cool. Loved the space but will never go back for the food.
