Crosby's Kitchen — solid, no-fuss american in Lakeview. It gets busy, and that's part of the appeal. Strong bar program alongside the food. Peg O'Connor: "Their food is always very fresh and absolutely delicious"

“We started with the deviled eggs (5/5) which were unreal, then split crab cakes (5/5) and the spaetzle Mac and cheese (5/5) was one of the best we've had”
My son and I stopped by Crosby’s for brunch, but we found out they only serve brunch on Saturdays and Sundays.
This review will be worth reading, but I wish I didn't have to write it.

“This restaurant is under rated.”
This restaurant is under rated. Maybe the best in Chicago. Everything is so delicious and perfectly prepared and presented.

“Lobster deviled eggs are the best.”
Lobster deviled eggs are the best. It’s a must-have. Chorizo Tostadas were very good. The French toast was light and very delicious but the Lakeview omelet was OK. I have had Eggs Benedict before at this place and that was also very good. The service is always great and the food quality is top-notch.

“Let me tell you, folks — if you’re looking for the absolute best place in Chicago right now, you...”
Let me tell you, folks — if you’re looking for the absolute best place in Chicago right now, you have to go to Crosby’s Kitchen. It’s tremendous — really outstanding. I mean, I’ve eaten in many restaurants, and this one is huge in quality. First of all — the location. 3455 N Southport Ave in Lakeview. Big neighborhood, big vibe. You walk in and you feel welcome. Not over-the-top pretentious, but polished, comfortable, sophisticated—just right. The atmosphere? Very classy, very warm, very winning. Now, let’s talk about the food — because this is where Crosby’s knocks it out of the park. They specialize in rotisserie chicken, comfort food done at the highest level. The iron-skillet cornbread with maple butter? I hear about it from patrons all the time. Reviewers say it’s “a must-have treat”. And the lobster deviled eggs, the crab toast, the Wrightwood salad — high end, but still approachable. Service is consistently described as top notch, very friendly, very professional — strong service matters, and they bring it. What I like: It’s family-friendly, yet still elegant enough for an important dinner. They’ve balanced it beautifully — you get the comfort, you get the class. Families? Welcome. Date night? Perfect. Business meal? Done. Reviewers say children are comfortable there, but you’re not losing any of the adult atmosphere. Let’s talk value. For what you are getting — bold flavors, high quality dishes, excellent service — the value is huge. You’re not getting ripped off. Many places charge you a fortune and you’re hoping for good service; here you get what you expect and more. Recommendation: Go early on a weekend if you want brunch (they serve brunch Sat & Sun starting 8:30am) to avoid big crowds. Try the iron skillet cornbread, get a rotisserie chicken dish, share a dessert (the cookie skillet is legendary). You’ll thank me. In summary: Crosby’s Kitchen is the real deal. It hits all the marks — ambiance, food, service, value. If you’re in Chicago and you haven’t been yet, you’re missing out. Big league. Believe me — you’ll come out saying: “Why haven’t I been here sooner?”

Overall delicious and cute patio. Ribs fell off the bone, shoestring fries, and cornbread with jalepenos was great.

“Family friendly restaurant with a great patio and good selection of food, wine and drinks.”
Family friendly restaurant with a great patio and good selection of food, wine and drinks. Crosby's is in the heart of the Southport corridor and is always packed so I'd recommend a reservation. But you can bring your dogs on the patio and it's always filled with kids which is nice. We started with the deviled eggs (5/5) which were unreal, then split crab cakes (5/5) and the spaetzle Mac and cheese (5/5) was one of the best we've had. Pair that with their old fashioned for a great meal. Will be back soon to try their turkey burger which looks really good.

Crosby’s Kitchen is a total win — beautiful space in a prime Southport Corridor location, perfect for a relaxed lunch or casual dinner. We kicked things off with the blueberry cornbread, which was massive and absolutely delicious. The butter it comes with? Next level. For entrees, we tried the Wrightwood Salad and the Grilled Mahi Sandwich. The Wrightwood stood out — super generous with the rotisserie chicken (a refreshing twist), and the creamy dressing was flavorful without being heavy. Ideal summer lunch. But the Mahi Sandwich? KILLER. Perfectly cooked fish, paired with an incredible solo sauce that tied everything together. Prices were more than fair for the quality and portion sizes. Can’t wait to go back — this place is an easy favorite in the neighborhood.

“Chris N is an amazing waiter.”
Chris N is an amazing waiter. The attention to Detail 👌. The food was great too. Definitely order the blueberry corn bread, it was a hit. The potato and bacon croquettes was also very good. I was not a fan of the hash browns, I prefer regular old shredded hashbrowns.

“Fresh, Modern, Classic American Cuisine.”
Fresh, Modern, Classic American Cuisine. Fantastic restaurant serving the finest rotisserie chicken and prime rib (dinner only). Went here on Valentine’s Day and the food was impeccable. Spinach artichoke dip to start was delicious and not too creamy. The chicken dip sandwich is to die for with the thin cut French fries. Highly recommend the half chicken dinner as well! Only problem we had was with the hostess putting us at the 2 top directly next to the hostess stand with multiple other open tables. Was practically listening to restaurant gossip throughout the meal.

I’ve been coming to Crosby’s for several years now and it’s one of my favorite breakfast staples. Recently, I had Jack as a server and he was fantastic. He was attentive, courteous and all around phenomenal. If you’re planning your next trip, I highly recommend trying the lobster deviled eggs paired with a Bloody Mary.
