Crosby's Kitchen
Crosby's Kitchen — solid, no-fuss american in Lakeview. It gets busy, and that's part of the appeal. Strong bar program alongside the food. Peg O'Connor: "Their food is always very fresh and absolutely delicious" [$$, patio]

“Delicious food and attentive service. I’ve never liked jalapeño in cornbread until I had this one. The chicken is not as salty as other rotisserie chickens but that’s not a bad thing since you can always add more salt yourself.”

“The spinach dip and chips were amazing! The food was delicious, and the overall experience was excellent.”

“Spencer made our dining experience fantastic, especially considering it was his first day! He was friendly, attentive, and had such a positive attitude throughout our meal. You could tell he genuinely cared about providing great service. Wishing him all the best 👌🏼”

“This place is a fantastic neighborhood restaurant that truly has something for everyone. The food is excellent, the service is friendly and attentive, and everything comes out quickly, making for a smooth and enjoyable dining experience. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with a family friendly feel that makes it a great spot for any occasion. The patio is a wonderful feature, especially on nice days, and adds to the overall charm of the restaurant. With a great selection of food, wine, and drinks, there is plenty to choose from no matter what you're in the mood for. Overall, it's a place that consistently delivers great food, great service, and a comfortable atmosphere.”

“This restaurant is seriously underrated and may be one of the best dining spots in Chicago. Everything we ordered was delicious, perfectly prepared, and beautifully presented. It is clear that a lot of care goes into both the food and the overall dining experience. The location is convenient, especially if you're spending time in the nearby shopping areas. There is plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors, making it easy to enjoy a meal in whatever setting you prefer. The service was excellent throughout our visit, and the food was consistently impressive. If you're looking for great American comfort food and brunch options, this place absolutely deserves more attention and is well worth a visit.”

“Crosbys Kitchen is the bomb The food was great very helpful and friendly service from our waitress she alone make me wanna come back soon!!! The salad we shared with four was great The chicken the smashed potatoes the prime rib sandwich was a knockout!!! Need I say more??????”

“This restaurant is under rated. Maybe the best in Chicago. Everything is so delicious and perfectly prepared and presented.”

“Lobster deviled eggs are the best. It’s a must-have. Chorizo Tostadas were very good. The French toast was light and very delicious but the Lakeview omelet was OK. I have had Eggs Benedict before at this place and that was also very good. The service is always great and the food quality is top-notch.”

“What a great brunch spot! Service was excellent! The cornbread and monkey bread, yum!!!!!!! Definitely recommend! My burger was cooked exactly how I wanted it!”

“Let me tell you, folks — if you’re looking for the absolute best place in Chicago right now, you have to go to Crosby’s Kitchen. It’s tremendous — really outstanding. I mean, I’ve eaten in many restaurants, and this one is huge in quality. First of all — the location. 3455 N Southport Ave in Lakeview. Big neighborhood, big vibe. You walk in and you feel welcome. Not over-the-top pretentious, but polished, comfortable, sophisticated—just right. The atmosphere? Very classy, very warm, very winning. Now, let’s talk about the food — because this is where Crosby’s knocks it out of the park. They specialize in rotisserie chicken, comfort food done at the highest level. The iron-skillet cornbread with maple butter? I hear about it from patrons all the time. Reviewers say it’s “a must-have treat”. And the lobster deviled eggs, the crab toast, the Wrightwood salad — high end, but still approachable. Service is consistently described as top notch, very friendly, very professional — strong service matters, and they bring it. What I like: It’s family-friendly, yet still elegant enough for an important dinner. They’ve balanced it beautifully — you get the comfort, you get the class. Families? Welcome. Date night? Perfect. Business meal? Done. Reviewers say children are comfortable there, but you’re not losing any of the adult atmosphere. Let’s talk value. For what you are getting — bold flavors, high quality dishes, excellent service — the value is huge. You’re not getting ripped off. Many places charge you a fortune and you’re hoping for good service; here you get what you expect and more. Recommendation: Go early on a weekend if you want brunch (they serve brunch Sat & Sun starting 8:30am) to avoid big crowds. Try the iron skillet cornbread, get a rotisserie chicken dish, share a dessert (the cookie skillet is legendary). You’ll thank me. In summary: Crosby’s Kitchen is the real deal. It hits all the marks — ambiance, food, service, value. If you’re in Chicago and you haven’t been yet, you’re missing out. Big league. Believe me — you’ll come out saying: “Why haven’t I been here sooner?””

“Overall delicious and cute patio. Ribs fell off the bone, shoestring fries, and cornbread with jalepenos was great.”

“Crosby's Kitchen was a culinary delight! The menu offered a variety of selections. We visited for lunch and were pleasantly presented with a Short Rib Rigatoni which is a slow-braised, tender short rib ragu with whipped ricotta cheese. We also had the BBQ'd Baby Back Ribs which are super tender, fall off the bone served with Smoke Daddy BBQ Sauce. Atmosphere is comfortable with lots of booth seating. Beer selections are generous. The service was helpful and our waiter was able to accommodate a request of damp cloth napkins for the ribs. This is a craveable place. We wanted to go back the next day! UPDATE We were very happy to enjoy this fabulous establishment again! We had a very energetic server who suggested the evenings special of fish & chips with a side of coleslaw slaw and fries. Two of us immediately chose this. The other person had the Filet Mignon sliders, which he said were 'excellent.' I ordered hot tea to drink on this cold and windy evening. The tea set up was impressive, arriving on a tray with a small teapot, cup, teas and lemon. The only regret I have is this restaurant is not where I live!”
