5 Rabanitos Restaurante & Taqueria
5 Rabanitos Restaurante & Taqueria — well-regarded mexican in Pilsen. The room fills up fast and stays lively. The menu takes creative swings, and lands them, and solid veggie options. "The Chile was great tast but not spicy enough for" — Eduardo Gallardo [$$, patio]

“This is a fantastic Mexican restaurant in the heart of Pilsen and one of the best places I've visited in the area. The food is fresh, flavorful, and consistently delicious, making every meal a great experience. The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, providing attentive service that makes you feel right at home. One of the highlights is the beautiful patio, which is the perfect place to enjoy your meal when the weather is nice. Between the excellent food, warm hospitality, and inviting atmosphere, this is a restaurant I highly recommend and will definitely be returning to.”

“Deliciosa comida y la atención maravillosa. Siempre que voy pido el especial y no me decepcionan nunca. Estos plátanos con Chipotle y queso son mis favoritos.”

“Totally worth the hype! The veggie torta is amazing, perfect! This was truly the best veggie torta. The la playa potatoes were amazing as well. The red table salsa, perfection. Will definitely come back!”

“The service was okay, and the owners were friendly. Unfortunately, the Barbacoa taco was excessively oily and dripping while eating, which took away from the experience. While the food didn’t cause any issues afterward, the amount of oil was concerning but the overall experience is all right.”

“12 out of 10! I got the tacos diner platter and chose the pibil, barbacoa and goat adobo. The goat wasn’t gamey (which tbh I would have been fine with, but more people don’t like, so you should know it’s quite mildly goat-y. Would be a v good introduction to goat for first timers) the pibil was the perfect amount of fat to meat IMO (not fatty, just enough fat to give flavor) and the barbacoa ranks in my top 3 ever. Kind of competes with my family’s barbacoa, I was very happy with it. Cafe de olla was perfectly sweetened and seasoned as well. I will note that my friend got the torta ahogada and it was served a little differently than expected… not quite drowning in sauce nor how it would be traditionally served (it had beans) but the flavor she was happy with (note: she asked for spiciest level and didn’t feel it was very spicy in the end— but the table salsa was PERFECT and spicy enough to compliment the sauce that the torta came on). Overall my favorite meal I ate on a 5 day trip to Chicago. Really glad I got to visit.”

“Buen sabor y muchas opciones en el menu. Servicio claro y amigable, lugar limpio”

“Our crew discovered this after a long day of filming. We loved the Mexican IPA beer and every dish was delish!”

“I was craving pozole. This restaurant was highly recommended for Guerrero style pozole and more. Let me tell you. It did not dissapoint! I ordered the green pork pozole (hot). They also have mild and medium. The steaming hot, tomatillo broth was very flavorful with shredded pork, hominy and bits of avocado topped with julienne radishes and crunchy chicharrones. It was SO good! I also ordered the taquito appetizer. It was as good as at it looked. Little mini rolled, crispy chicken tacos served over savory, black beans and tomatillo salsa. The taquitos were topped with a little crema, guacamole and pickled onions. SO Good! I cannot wait to go back and try the rest of the items on the menu! Service was also as good as the food. Do not miss this restaurant!”

“Diana was our server and she was amazing. My family’s first time ever and we enjoyed it together! Delicioso y muy sabroso. Estilo Mexicano 100%.”

“I’ve visited 5 Rabanitos way too many times for me to easily tell you this is one of my favorite Mexican restaurants. Food is always excellent, presentation is outstanding and honestly for the price point I think it’s such a deal. Gorgeous patio that I highly recommend you soak the sun in.”
