Pho 888
Pho 888 — vietnamese in Uptown; the Pho Broth is the highlight. Feels like it's been there since before the neighborhood changed. The kind of cooking that doesn't need to explain itself. Good for vegetarians. Bianca Hannah: "The fresh, crisp, and flavorful veggies with the tender pork were a party on my taste buds" [$, patio]

“Pho Tao Bo Vien was fantastic. Great broth, large serving size. Friendly and fast service. Will definitely return!”

“Tưởng tượng mà xem, 200 món ngon Vietnamese ở quán, chưa kể hơn chục loại thức uống hấp hẫn nữa.”

“Pho 888 offers an authentic Vietnamese dining experience with a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. The interior is simple, with granite-topped tables and decor that adds a touch of Vietnamese culture. This no-frills restaurant provides a comfortable and inviting vibe, perfect for a casual meal. The pho is the star of the menu, with a rich and flavorful broth that’s clear yet packed with depth. Generous portions of tender beef slices complement the aromatic broth, garnished with fresh green onions and cilantro, enhancing each sip and bite. The noodles are cooked to perfection, with a firm yet tender texture that pairs well with the broth. If you’re a pho enthusiast, this spot is a must-try for the depth of flavor they manage to infuse into each bowl. The shrimp spring rolls are fresh and tightly wrapped, served with a savory peanut dipping sauce that adds a nutty, slightly sweet element to each bite. They’re a refreshing start to the meal and show a nice balance of textures with the soft rice paper, crunchy veggies, and tender shrimp. Overall, Pho 888 delivers an excellent Vietnamese dining experience with well-executed dishes and generous portions. This spot is a gem for anyone looking for comforting, authentic pho in the Uptown area.”

“Huge portions of fantastic food from an expansive menu for great prices. I went here for a quick family dinner on the last warm day on October and asked to sit outside. The chairs were locked up when I got there, but the employees were more than willing to unlock them and set up and clean off a table for us. The menu is huge, and they were accommodating with my allergies and told me that what I was ordering was safe for me. All of the food my family and I had was fantastic, and it all came on huge plates, far more food than we expected for the price (and of course we wound up having to take home leftovers). The place is very low key and nothing fancy, but still has a good vibe to it. The service was very good, the woman who I assume is one of the owners was very nice. Definitely going to come back here in the future.”

“stopped in for early lunch - it has been awhile since we were on Argyle - delish! asked if we could sit outside and they quickly set us up with our pups on sidewalk - we ordered ox tail Pho and shrimp Bun with two iced Vietnamese coffees - so good!”

“Food is alright. For what it is, I think some other places on this strip are better. Honestly, it’s very pricey after tax and tip. The restaurant has a very cozy feel to it though, which I’m sure a lot would find appealing.”

“Food came quickly, hefty portions, and nice location for exploring the neighborhood.”

“After my workout class, I decided to stop by Pho 888 for the first time. It’s a bit smaller than some other places nearby, but I was really impressed with the appetizers we ordered. The barbecue pork sandwich was amazing! However, the rice noodle soup was a bit disappointing for me. The noodles were a bit too soft and mushy, which affected the texture, and the broth didn’t have much flavor. I’d definitely return for the appetizers, but for soup”
