“The best Vietnamese food experience, I have ever had. I haven't been to Vietnam, but this makes me want to go there now. Every dish was so flavorful, full of love, and just fresh and delicious. Highly recommended. Sydney is the most delightful, warm hostess. It's a gem that we stumbled upon, and we are so glad we found it. Definately a repeat dining spot.”

“Every Viet place I go, I measure them using either pho or the pork chop as my benchmark. DaNang has top-tier pork chop meal. My only issue is the portions. Any Asian knows, you need rice as a starch to cut through the protein/fat for balance. I got way too little rice. When they serve you, a lot of the plate is empty space; you could probably give more rice. Oddly, I was more hungry after eating than before. The pork chop was delicious though so I’m looking forward to the pho.”

“One of my favorite Vietnamese restaurants in Chicago. My go to spot if I'm craving something else other than pho and bahn mi--although they do those well. One of the few places in Chicago that have banh khot (mini crispy shrimp pancakes) and the best bowl of Mi Quang. They also have the best Vietnamese egg coffee--strong, rich, and sweet. Too many other places in the city make it too weak. Their clay pot rice with short rib and bone marrow is SOOOO delicious--a must try if its on the menu. The staff is small but very friendly and sweet. Highly, highly recommend this place!”

“amazing banh mi for such a good price. many options to choose from. quiet atmosphere”

“The Crab Noodle Soup was excellent and the staff were extremely friendly. My favorite place on Argyle so far.”

“I recently toured Vietnam from North to South, so I had a real craving for authentic Bún Chả. Google led me to this spot—and wow, what a treat. I started with a delicious iced coffee, a fresh spring roll, and of course the Bún Chả. Everything was spot on—fresh, flavorful, and exactly what I was hoping for. What made the experience even better was the warm service. Sydney greeted me with the biggest smile—so kind and welcoming. It really added something special to the meal. Before leaving, I grabbed several dishes to go—salads, soups, noodle dishes, and another Bún Chả. Every single item reflected high-quality ingredients and thoughtful preparation. This is the real deal. I’ll definitely be back—for the food and for Sydney’s smile.”

“Just trust me when I say that this is the best Vietnamese restaurant in Chicago. I can not emphasize enough how good the quality of food is each and every time we go to DaNang Kitchen. My go to: Pho with everything and Vietnamese egg coffee. The owners make me feel like home. One of the reasons I keep returning every time to try more of their dishes cooked with so much love. 6/5⭐️, and if I could give it more stars - I would. Don’t hesitate to visit, its so worth it.”

“One of my favorite restaurants in Argyle! The food is always fresh and the flavors amazing. Although the place is small it’s clean and nice. Please try their coffee, it’s one of the best I’ve ever had!”

“Thank you for the delicious authentic Vietnamese food. Definitely coming back.”

“When it comes to Vietnamese cuisine, you really can't go wrong on Argyle St. DaNang tends to have some of the higher prices, but damn if they aren't also one of the best. Named after the city located halfway between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh, DaNang excels at both northern and southern flavors. I'm never disappointed by their meat dishes, charred just enough to give that extra crispy burst of flavor. I love the house-made fish sauce, which is stronger and better-tasting than some of the watered-down ones nearby. Every entree has been a hit so far, though I most recommend the pork chop with sunnyside egg (CƠM TẤM SƯỜN NƯỚNG), egg coffee, banh khot, and Bun Chá. The menu is not an overwhelming book, but instead encompasses the most popular entrees and appetizers you'll find in a Vietnamese restaurant, with a variety of smoothies and iced and hot drinks. There are helpful pictures for diners unfamiliar with the menu, which I appreciate. I've never gotten around to trying the phó there, as the area is quite competitive for phó and I've tended to gravitate to the smaller hole-in-the-wall places full of elderly Vietnamese for such a classic, but I'm willing to bet it's fantastic. If it is only price that matters to you, other restaurants in the area will be just as delicious and authentic for less. But for powerful flavor, excellent dipping sauce, and the best egg coffee, go to DaNang. I wish them many years of success and prosperity.”
