Bánh Mì & Co
Bánh Mì & Co is a budget-friendly Lakeview stop known for fresh vegetable and tofu bánh mì, praised for its crisp-soft baguettes and carefully balanced fillings. Pho Ga arrives with broth and garnishes packed separately for customizable seasoning, while fried rice, spring rolls, and surprisingly popular xiao long bao round out the menu. Quality and service appear inconsistent, with some recent reviews citing dry sandwiches, weak pho, and poor hospitality.

“I ordered delivery through Uber, and it was a complete disaster from start to finish. When my order arrived, the packaging had completely failed. The broth had spilled entirely inside the bag, leaving the rest of the meal ice cold. Worse yet, the leaking container caused the broth to spill all over my furniture, permanently damaging my cushions. If the negligent packaging wasn't bad enough, the food itself was a massive health and quality failure. I found a hair cooked right into my meal, which immediately killed any appetite I had left. The basil leaves they included were completely wilted, rotting, and clearly expired. To top it all off, they completely ignored my dietary modifications. I explicitly ordered my meal with NO onions and NO scallions, yet the meat was thoroughly mixed with both. Zero attention to detail, zero quality control, and terrible hygiene. This meal was a complete waste of money and ended up costing me even more in damaged furniture. Avoid this place at all costs!”
“very good fried rice. looks exactly like the picture and very flavorful”
“Gave this place a second chance and glad I did. Had banh mi, spring rolls, and xiao long bao.”
“bahn mi is fresh (veg/tofu, can’t speak for meat) great flavors, and one of the best breads/ baguette i have had in chicago”
“Received a delivery order of the Pho Ga. The broth was in a tightly sealed container separated from the chicken, onion, cilatro, basil and noodles. The bean sprouts, lime, jalapeños, hoisen and Sriracha were also packed sepcilantro. I really enjoyed this pho and plan to order again. It has a clean, simple broth that can be perfectly seasoned to your taste. I like to use all the accoutrememts!”
“Hands down the best Bahn Mi sandwich anywhere in the city. Perfect ratios of ingredients. Soft with a slight crunch bread. Worth repeating trips.”
“First visit I went in on a hunch, I thought strange xiao long bao on a vietnamese menu, probably frozen, BUT exactly what was on my mind all morning. Maybe that's why i thought it was good size and taste from 10pcs quantity for the price and open at 1030a, but allow 15-20min time to cook well. Bring a good container to keep hot, arrange carefully so they don't stick to each other, and enjoy outside or at the ballpark. Xiao long bao = Life Is Good!”
“A real disappointment. No one to greet you when you walk in. Atmosphere non existant. Waitress only spoke Spanish. Fortunately not a problem as am semi fluent. When food came we each got a tiny glass of water and when waitress came back to ask how things were and was told the egg rolls were ice cold, she just walked away and never came back. Never refilled our glasses. Pho was blah without the customary accompaniments. Just weak stock , noodles and a few bean sprouts. Bahn mi sandwich needed seasoning and was very dry.”
