Thattu — clean, consistent indian in Roscoe Village. The noise level tells you everything you need to know. Not your typical menu, in a good way. Nuhn ya Biz: "The flavors were deep and rich and every grain of rice had absorbed the spices perfectly" [$$]

🌱Vegan & vegetarian friendly — real options, not one sad pasta.

Hands down some of the best food & best Indian food I’ve ever had. Kothu parotta with beef - 10/10, Chorum Kariyum (fish) - 8.5/10, egg aapam - 9/10, curd rice & potato fry - 8/10, elanchi (jackfruit dessert) - 10/10. Edit - Tried some vegetarian dishes on second visit including the mushrooms and the lentils and they were pretty good too.

Came for dinner. Got seated immediately. Staff were friendly. Room was not too loud but looked busy. Restaurant looks cute and warm inside. The mango mezcal.. cocktail was not my favorite. But the Food were delicious! The mushroom appetizer is the BomB, explosion of flavors. The curry was good. The biryani was good but was hoping there version something stands out. The special Branzino fish was delicious!!!! Fish was perfectly grilled! Love the species and sauce included!!! Thr desert was good but nothing stands out. Overall, Recommended!

Thattu was a nice experience. Foods were awesome. Delicious plus felt fresh. Kerala fired chicken and signature fish curry was really good. Kappa bonda was also good taste. Ordering food via QR was very easy. Waitress was attentive and explained dish well. Few Street parking spots was available when we were there. Recommend this place.

I was really impressed with everything we ate and drank! The mocktails and N/A options were so unique and I’d love to come back and try all of them! The Lunar New Year special was delicious and so was the curry and short rib as well as the mushroom appetizer and yucca bites. The bread pudding was one of the best desserts I’ve had (and it was fun to see that they had Pretty Cool ice cream pops as well). Overall a really fun vibe - the art on the walls was a wonderful touch. This is a great place to come with friends and/or family and share as much as you can! Edited to add it was a great experience the second time I went, too!

I met up here with a friend on a freezing weekday night; the service was very warm and friendly, the drinks were very creative (something I love), and the food was great! The yucca bites and deviled eggs are a must order.

I've experienced and eaten a lot of Indian food but this is the only place I've ever seen that serves Kerala cuisine and it's fantastic. We had the Chili Paneer Puff, the Fried Chicken bites, Theeyal Salad, Kadala Curry, Meen Pollichathu, Beef Fry & Porottas and an Appam. All were excellent with the most unique item the Appam, it was slightly sweet and so light and fluffy and paired well with the curry, and then my favorite being the Meen Pollichathu or the Beef Fry & Porottas. Both of those were unlike anything I'd have before with the Beef Fry being a cross between Beef Rendang and Cumin Beef while the fish was moist and paired with the tomato and coconut perfectly. The atmosphere was very laid back and casual and felt almost like you were eating in your grandma's kitchen. Perfect for a date night or going out with a group of friends. I would go back here anytime and would recommend to all especially if you've had more traditional Indian cuisine that you find in Chicago as this is very different from all of them.

Very cosy restaurant with delicious food and attentive staff. Definitely reminds you of Kerala with home styled portions and a rotating seasonal menu. Kerala fried chicken and masala deviled eggs were delicious. Appams are delicious, large in size and the Malabar biryani, shrimp and fish entrees are must have. Forbidden payasam is unique, not too sweet, and a great way to finish off the meal.
