I visited the restaurant during lunchtime and ordered Pad See Ew and Thai Fried Rice. The portions were generous, enough for two people or even three, and the food tasted good. The staff were friendly and the prices felt fair for the portion size and quality. One thing that confused me a bit was the halal label, as I noticed pork items on the menu. For those who are concerned about this, it might be a good idea to ask the staff directly before ordering.

delicious and authentic Thai food!! I got nostalgic when I walked in because it smelled EXACTLY like my grandma's kitchen. my favorite meal I've ever eaten in Chicago ☺ (the red curry was so good I forgot to take a picture before)

“What a excellent Thai restaurant.”

What a excellent Thai restaurant. Being next to the Thai Consulate, I took a guess that the food would be of good quality and I was not disappointed. I ordered my pad woon sen spicy and it actually was hot enough to get my sinuses running, just what I was hoping for. I will definitely be back on my next trip to Chicago.

Super delicious and by my estimation utterly authentic. I had duck curry, a favorite flavor of mine. This was well prepared, served piping hot, and enough for two - though I almost ate it all!

The Crispy noodles with panang curry is outstanding!! We love Thai food and this dish may be the best I’ve had…and my first time trying this dish. The Massaman curry was very good, maybe a bit sweet. The prices are very reasonable.

“I love their food.”

I love their food. Amazing and reasonable price. We tried their shrimp fried rice, thai special Tom Yum soup (coconut milk), Chicken Pad thai, mixed seas food vegetables, Spring rolls. We enjoyed their food and had Dinner and Lunch both.

“This is an awesome little takeout spot.”

This is an awesome little takeout spot. I’m eating my leftovers (round 2 - fight!) right now, and had to come back to review. The food was great, and the people were very nice. I wish their menu specified gluten free items (or ones they could prepare that way), but they were very accommodating and friendly when I called! They offered GF soy sauce in the fried rice, and that all their Pad Thai dishes are GF. The flavors were rich and delicious. If there was a 4.75/5 option I would note that the beef in the fried rice seemed like the chef was worried it would come back to life, so they cooked the devil out of it. Tough… other than that, so good!!

Absolutely phenomenal basement-level Thai restaurant with a great vibes and tunes! The Pad Talay was flavorful, filling and offered a great variety of seafood. You must have their Thai Coffee. Their food portions are great and their prices are very affordable- especially for downtown Chicago. We were seated quickly and the customer service was great. There is limited street parking. This restaurant is best accessed by foot. This restaurant is not wheelchair accessible.

“Got the Thai Basil fried rice with tofu, and it was really good!”

Got the Thai Basil fried rice with tofu, and it was really good!! Served really hot even though we got takeout and they made sure to add chili and soy sauce on the side. The foods good here!!
