“They still have the best fish in town but I'm afraid I'll have to give it to King Fish for the best shrimp”
Catfish steak dinner. Five ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ thank me later 😁.
I always get the White fish & shrimp combo, always made fresh & hot.
This is a no frills fried fish place with some surprises on their menu. The Fishwich was great.
I had tried their food today (Aug 30, 2025) for the first time, started off small with a kids meal (I didn’t know what I was going to get myself into) and it was actually very good.
My catfish meal was seasoned really good but I ask for specifics no cheese tartar sauce they didn't listen very rushed during ordering and nothing is explained 31$ for 2 sandwiches some fries and 2 small teas is crazy.
Ask for a plan Fish Wish I get home in Oak park my sandwich has everything on it wet because the LT and tartar sauce.
The Resturant was nice & clean. I ordered 2 fish wish meals. The sandwich’s had little to no condiments on them.

I haven't had Dock's in over 20yrs. I'm so happy they reopened. Food was delicious and the Dockberry shake was a nostalgic treat.

“Going to Dock's reminded me of the past.”
Going to Dock's reminded me of the past! Dock's used to be everywhere! There are only three locations left. Some old empty buildings are still around. I remember taking a co-worker (Jennifer) to lunch at Dock's on east 75th street back in the 90s. We'd eat Dock's, drive to the lake and then make out. The whole car smelled like fish afterwards.👍🏼 Well, the service at this Dock's is great and the Fishwich meal tasted exactly like I remember it! It was simply delicious! The service was great too. Dock's really isn't a dine in place but this location is always clean. You have a clear view of the guys selling illegal cigarettes in the Popeye's lot across the street on 35th street if you want to people watch. The African American art in the lobby is a nice touch! Hmm. I have see if I can find Jennifer's old number now.

“The Fishwich sandwich is a Chicago Classic.”
The Fishwich sandwich is a Chicago Classic! Dock's has a very tasty, freshly made, fried fish sandwich, The Fishwich! 😋 They also have delicious Perch, Catfish, and Shrimp dinners, but the Fishwich & Docberry Shake are the best! It's mainly carryout, but there is a small seating area that is usually available. Parking on the street and in the free lot across the street. A combo w/ shake is under $20 and worth every bite & sip 😉

“Went to this Docks on a Monday early afternoon.”
Went to this Docks on a Monday early afternoon. The service was super fast. The food was hot and good however, I really didn’t care for the tartar sauce. It seemed to be a little runny, and they charge $.75 for cheese overall good experience had a # 1 meal.

“I love spots that are hood even if they're not located there.”
I love spots that are hood even if they're not located there. This new Dock's lives up to the legacy started over 30 years ago. They are slow. Real slow. 20 to 30 minutes slow. Make sure your phone is charged so you have something to do. The waiting room is nice. I can't call it a dining room because no one really ever eats there. They still have the best fish in town but I'm afraid I'll have to give it to King Fish for the best shrimp. All in all it brings back a lot of fond memories and it's still the best "dashboard cuisine" in the City.

“Food was made fresh to order.”
Food was made fresh to order. It was hot and the oil appears recently changed. Cole slaw could be larger to be in combo.

“This is a small Catfish fillet.”
This is a small Catfish fillet. Docks use to give an ample amount of fries. Today, the fries were skimpy. Disappointed.

I was craving a shrimp po’boy .. i ordered one with cheese , lemon pepper and no lettuce and this is what I got. I called it in and she told me this is how it’s made which is not what I had plenty times before nor what’s advertised on the menu. Wont be back

“Literally just spent $70 in there.”
Literally just spent $70 in there. The lady piles all my food into one bag and gives me the biggest hassle about .08 cent for another bag. I asked could she just separate the food and she still wanted .08 cents. WONT BE GETTING MY MONEY FOR A LONG TIME. IM ALWAYS AT DOCKS AND THE FACT ANOTHER CUSTOMER WHO OVERHEARD PAID THE 8 CENTS FOR ME WHEN I SPENT $70 IS RIDICULOUS!
