Sawa's Old Warsaw Restaurant — solid, no-fuss polish in Broadview. Order the Potato Pancakes. Feels like it's been there since before the neighborhood changed. "The pierogi were perfect, the potato pancakes were the best I have ever had" — Lisa Doody [$$]

Great experience. It was my first time there. Heard many many good things. Well I was told correctly. Food was so good I went back 3 times. Soups were so delicious I couldn't decide which was my favorite. I highly recommend this restaurant

Came here with my wife over the weekend for lunch. I had previously seen it in an Instagram video featuring cool buffets throughout the country. The Polish buffet looked very intriguing, so I added it to my want-to-go list and off we went 😁 The interior and exterior are timeless, beautiful and aged like a fine wine. It's also very well laid-out, with wonderfully nice and helpful staff. All of the food was absolutely delicious 😋 My favorites were the sauerkraut, broasted chicken and the cabbage rolls, yum!! It's something you don't see a lot of that I'm happy to see existing right here: An old-school buffet.

The food is authentic...just like Busha used to make. The service is excellent. Very comfortable. And rooms for parties or funerals. This one holds 80 people. Well stocked bar also.

This place is a time capsule that I hope is open for many years to come. Drove from WI with family to try the legendary dinner buffet. It did not disappoint. Will be back for more cabbage rolls, potato pancakes, sausage and pierogis!

We stopped in after dropping our son off at O'Hare for his trip to Poland. The food was excellent and plentiful. It was replenished with fresh food regularly. We got to enjoy foods I have not had since I was younger and my grandparents would be cooking away. It was very clean. Aga was very attentive and we had a nice conversation with her about the restaurant and her experiences between here and the old country as we say. It is funny, I had never been there but it felt familiar. Highly recommend you get in for some smoked sausage, pierogi, excellent fried chicken and the cabbage rolls like Grandma used to make. There was a cash discount. I always pay in cash at a mom and pop anyway. Chains can eat the fees.

This place has been here for as long as I can remember. Nor is this place really changed as long as I can remember. They’ve written off this restaurant so many times that I’ve lost count. And yet it stands, a testament to Polish buffets. The food is still solid especially about buffet standards.

four stars solely for the ambiance and interior of the building. the food is not very vegetarian / dietary restriction friendly but that was to be expected at a buffet. i kind of wish they had more food options though. I really enjoyed the apple blintzes, potato pierogis, mashed potatoes and gravy, AND the jello slices. would come back but not go out of my way if you know what i mean.

Honestly, the food has really not been that good. 6-19-26 Recently, the food is not consistent, and sometimes it doesn't taste that good. 6-13-26 There are 9 decent polish restaurants in the chicago area, and in my opinion, this is the best one for the price. This is the O.G. ("original gangster") place -- the oldest polish buffet in america. Recently, it's been very cold outside, and all the restaurants keep things really cold inside. But not here! It is very warm in here! 👍 Note: Some of the employees here may expose you to stinging eye and shoulder pain (trigeminal nerves) from in-wash scent beads chemicals emanating from their clothing. (Gain beads) AI: "Inhaling fumes from scent beads causes intense pain because the volatile chemicals they release act as chemical irritants that directly activate the pain-sensing (nociceptive) neurons of the trigeminal nerve. This system is distinct from the olfactory (smell) system and its primary role is to warn the body about potentially harmful substances."
