“I went to Sanders yesterday i got LG Rib with Mac & Cheese and Brisket Sandwich and it's was so good.”

“Very very good food but the sides are small. Id avoid ordering sides as this large potato salad set me back 10 dollars. Otherwise a good experience.”

“Had an amazing visit to Sanders Barbecue today. Everything from the food to the hospitality was top notch. The brisket was perfectly smoked, tender, and full of flavor, and the sides were just as impressive. You can tell there’s real passion and craft behind what they do. This is the kind of place that does BBQ the right way — quality product, consistency, and genuine care for the guest. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re in the area.”

“⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ I finally made it over to Sanders BBQ, and here's my honest take! The rib tips were hands down my favorite. They were tender, flavorful, and cooked just right—the kind of BBQ that keeps you coming back for more. I also really enjoyed the baked beans. They had a nice homemade taste and paired perfectly with the meal. The links were just okay for me. They weren't bad, but they didn't really stand out. The fries and mac and cheese were also a bit "meh." They were decent enough, but they weren't the stars of the plate. Overall, the rib tips alone are worth the visit, and I'll definitely be back for another order. Next on my list is the catfish, and I'm looking forward to seeing if it's just as good as the BBQ. If you're in Chicago and craving some solid BBQ, Sanders BBQ is definitely worth checking out!”

“I had been hearing all the ranting and raving about this place so I decided to try them out. Im glad I did! The line for this place was really long with a constant flow of people coming in. I LOVED seeing that. Parking wasn’t too bad, I did have to circle the block once to find a park due to the restaurant being on a busy street in a residential area. Again, the food was really good! Rib tips-9/10 very flavorful 👍🏾 Brisket sandwich-10/10 there was a lot of fat but not enough meat. The sandwich was very good though Mac & cheese-9/10 cheesy with a good flavor 👍🏾 Greens-7/10 has a smoked taste Baked beans-9/10 what can I say, I LOVE sweet baked beans 💯 Overall, I will be going back again!”

“After reading all the high reviews of this food spot, my wife and I stopped by to check it out since we were in the area. The decor looked pleasant and the server on the register was Raven, who was very helpful, patient and professional. As far as the food, we were there either on a rookie cook day or the food is overabundantly rated. There was no pulled pork that afternoon, which my wife had wanted to try. We opted for 1/2 lb of brisket, which looked too pale and was without flavor nor juices. The slab of ribs was burnt on both ends and the barbeque sauce is nothing that stood out in a city that has strong competition in that area of dining. The collard greens were listed as having turkey pieces cooked in them didn't even have a trace of bird meat, fat nor skin. The baked beans were okay, but most baked beans can pass a taste test. The mac & cheese that I've seen in photos did not represent what I'd received. The top layer of cheese was lying on the side wall of the container which allowed an interior view of the noodle and cheese mix. That was also a failure...I don't know type of tasteless cheese mixture that was combined, however the following day I took a look at it, thinking that I'd reheat it. I took a look at it and spooned under a noodle to check it out cold... it actually tasted better cold and that was how I ate it. The cheese in mac n cheese should not be so soft whereas there is no resistance when spooning or forking it out. The cole slaw tasted like the cole slaw that Harold's Chicken would serve many years ago in those tiny paper cups. The worst food item in our experience at Sanders were the Chimichurri wings! I didn't know what to expect when I ordered them, but just the look of them in the container was a turn-off. They would never post this finished product on their website! My photos will show the ugliness of this presentation of food. On top of that, the wings were dry on the surface but still had redness at the bone. The best thing that we had was the sweet potato cornbread, which makes a wonderful dessert!”

“This was my first time visiting and I have to say I was a bit disappointed. First off I ordered a Smoked Brisket Cheeseburger, collard greens and a can of pop ($25.49). We asked for ketchup (which they don't have on the table where you get the sauces and it took a good ten minutes to get some). The burger was good and juicy, but tasted like a cheeseburger not Smoked Brisket (I thought it was going to be Smoked Brisket on a bun with cheese. It looked more like hamburger and maybe they put Smoked Brisket in the meat, but I didn't taste it. The collard greens were delicious. I may go back, but only because they seem as if they just opened recently and need to get the kinks out. I definitely won't get the cheeseburger again. There looks to be outside space for when the weather is nicer.”

“I hate to leave a negative review but this was a very disappointing experience. My brisket and ribs were served cold, and the brisket was also tough, dry and overcooked. The Mac and cheese, and street corn were delicious though. When we arrived, the staff all seemed like they didn’t want to be there. After we ordered and sat down waiting for our food, one of the employees started reaching over us to sweep under our table and even swept our feet with the broom. If the food had been good, I could’ve excused the bad service, but for a place I normally love, this was extremely disappointing. I won’t be driving an hour for this BBQ again.”

“So me and my friend came to Sander’s BBQ after I saw on the news that a “food critic” Jose Pena gave them a very good review and said they were a top place for bbq. Unfortunately they are not a top bbq spot. We went Saturday afternoon 7/11/26 at around 3pm and we won’t be going back again. The bbq was edible. We both had the 2-4 people platters which included ribs, pulled pork, brisket, a link sausage, and 2 sides which were Mac and cheese and collard greens. The ribs were way too sticky and barely had any meat. They were overdone and very dry. The link had a weird texture; it broke up in your mouth. The pulled pork was dry as well but was better with a lot of bbq sauce. The brisket was the best off the platter and the mac and cheese and collard greens were well done too. I say if you are a brisket person, they are pretty good at Sander’s BBQ. The rest was not.”

“Was expecting more based off The reviews but when the food arrived the oxtails were sour and stale there were no way I was going to eat it.when I call to complain to Uber eats they said they couldn't do anything about that problem. Sander bbq please stop serving ppl old meat. You know better than to be serving us sour oxtails just throw it in the 🗑️ trash. The ribs were stale but not sour or spoiled so it was the only thing I could eat. 90 💵 down the drain. Honestly the worst bbq I've had in Chicago please do better or someone will get sick and you won't have no blk owned business. Trying to save by cutting corners with stale food is definitely not the American way.”
“I would highly recommend anyone to get the smoked cheeseburger! It's very delicious and filling. It has such a focused taste and texture to it as well. Also the atmosphere is very chill and welcoming. Definitely one of the best spots in the neighborhood to grab a solid meal!”
