“Loved this place.”
Loved this place! Will be back. Great service and the cheese and cherry nalesniki were to die for. So lovely. The potato pancakes were almost like mom's. Pierogi were great, but we forgot to ask that they be pan fried. The stuffed cabbage great. Least favorite were the chicken meatballs. Will definitely be back!

“Authentic, homemade Polish food.”
Authentic, homemade Polish food. Reasonable prices, big portions, restaurant has a high scale feeling to it, smaller restaurant so tables fill up quickly, easy to have a conversation while eating since it’s not a very loud restaurant. The meatballs in mushroom sauce were excellent. Everyone loved their entrees! I read that this is a family owned placed, 2 sisters took over after their dad passed away and have kept the tradition alive. The Perogi and red Borsht (spelling🙊) soup also excellent! I will be back for sure.

“Cozy, local, polish restaurant from Jefferson Park.”
Cozy, local, polish restaurant from Jefferson Park. You won’t know about it unless you’re passing by. Everything I ordered was phenomenal and prepared deliciously perfect. I ordered carryout and all the food tasted to what I feel was standard and presented exceptionally. I’m definitely going to dine-in for our next turn around when we come back. Which we will definitely be back. We ate the polish food assortment and the Hungarian pancake. Best goulash I’ve ever had! Wow!

“I specifically made a detour on my way to the airport to try their pierogi topped with fried onion.”
I specifically made a detour on my way to the airport to try their pierogi topped with fried onion. I ordered ahead of time a mix of Ruskie (translation: Ruthenian) potato and cheese pierogi and the Smakosz-style, which were with farmers cheese, buckwheat, and mint, which I would not consider traditional but I nonetheless found the taste to be enthralling. I also got a side of pan-fried sauerkraut and fruit compote to drink. Pierogi were well worth the 30 minute detour as they were supremely seasoned and provided more than enough sustenance for my return flight back home. Fried cabbage is one of Poland’s finest contributions to European cuisine and the refreshing fruit compote teleports you to a grandma’s cottage in the Polish countryside in the middle of cherry harvesting season. Sweet, refreshing, natural—everything you’d want from a fruit beverage. Despite almost missing my flight, I would consider these pierogi from Smakosz to be well worth the trip!

An 80 mile drive one way to try a Sunday meal paid off. Very impressed all the way around from the aroma approaching the entrance, to the tastefully designed interior, warm and inviting service and the food, wow, the food! If you desire a meal reminiscent of your Polish family meals, we don’t think you’ll be disappointed.

Sunday dinner at Smakosz, excellent Polish cuisine, pork chop with mushrooms and potatoes, Hungarian pancakes with goulash, red borscht with meat croquette, kopytka, everything delicious. Nice atmosphere, jazz music, friendly service. Free parking on Lawrence, there was no problem finding a place. I highly recommend Polish cuisine because it is very tasty!! 👌🏻

We stopped by Smakosz Restaurant for lunch today, everything was well done especially the bake pork knuckle, crispy skin, juicy & soft meat. We also enjoyed the beef stroganoff, meat balls with mushroom sauce, potato pancakes & Hungarian potato pancakes. The server also brought out 4 cold salad while we waited for our food. We highly recommend this place!

“Delicious homemade polish food.”
Delicious homemade polish food! I'm polish and food tastes like made by my grandmother. Highly recommended. My American friends love it ! Tip: Your blueberries pierogi would taste more authentic with wild blueberries from WholeFoods or Costco. Highly recommended 👌

“I had the Polish Food Assortment with compote.”
I had the Polish Food Assortment with compote. This was quite a delicious meal with every ingredient in quite fresh, great quality. Compote was quite subtle in flavor and a little sweet. It’s definitely worth the wait for what quality you receive.
